Le Meridien Ile Maurice

In my review of our stay in Sept 2025 I said we’d be back soon. Well here we are again May 2026.😄 Another perfect relaxing holiday.. just what was needed. We have stayed at many hotels on the island over the years and I have to say they are all first class. However, what we feel sets Le Meridien apart from the others is the STAFF. They are all smiling, friendly, attentive, professional and charming to get to know and become friends. The amenities are great and the food choice is extensive and quality. Not only at the themed Nomad buffet but also, the à la carte restaurants. We stayed in the Nirvana complex with its private pool. There it is peaceful and relaxing and not crowded. You can’t beat the west side of the island for the sunset with a cheeky sundowner. Memories. A long list of grateful thanks to our friends….. Nicholas F&B (like family), Nomad - Vik, Chef Steven for Sagoo, Chef Ali, El Munirah B, Vidusha B for perfect Masala tea, Nikil R great to chat, Sabina (Sikkim) keep smiling. Nirvana - Butler Angele, Devraj B a real gentleman and our maid Sheila. Sports team - All great fun, to Chris and Joanna for dancing Jerusalema with me ( a highlight) and to Ingrid.

An incredibly relaxing stay. Room clean, quiet, large, airy, spacious, full of natural light. Slept like a baby! Food delicious, fresh, and so much choice. Location is stunning, with gorgeous panoramic views of the ocean and a lovely beach. Two pools with ample sun-loungers for everyone. Every staff member was polite, warm, attentive and extremely professional - the entire staff make a brilliant team. Special shout-out to the Guest Relations host, Kheemesh N., and the Welcome Hostess, Sanjanah, who went above and beyond to help me feel at home - thank you. I look forward to returning soon. :-)

Our stay at the Meridian Hotel was exceptional; the service was outstanding, and the staff demonstrated remarkable hospitality and attentiveness.

A beautiful stay at this wonderfully located hotel by the beach. The stay was made memorable by all the members of the team providing us with warm and welcoming hospitality. Each member was always ready to handle our requests with a smile. This applies to every team we encountered, be it at the restaurants, the spa, housekeeping, front office, at concierge, the restaurant, engineering or the team arranging the activities. Sheevanee at the Spa gave us some really relaxing massages. Easing any aches and releasing muscle tension so well. Thank you Sheevanee. Mala and her team in housekeeping provided excellent cleaning services for our room. We especially enjoyed the turndown service every evening with a beautifully decorated bed. A cleaned up room each evening much such a difference to our sleep and experience. Turn down service is dying out in general around the world and I urge every hotelier to keep this service. It’s appreciated by guests more than you can imagine. Tessa at the restaurant reservation desk was always so helpful and guided us well so we always had suitable dinner reservations. She was also very informative about the places to see and visit in the area. Shaun the dance lesson teacher and the gentlemen who led the yoga class wee both very friendly and I enjoyed the classes. The restaurant team at the Nomad restaurant ensured we were well taken care of at each breakfast time and dinner meals we ate there. A beautiful restaurant with lovely views. The kitchen, service and housekeeping teams worked tirelessly to ensure the delicious buffets were well maintained and all our requests were met. I would suggest to keep some items like bacon and foul mudammes more heated than they were. Overall the food was very enjoyable and there was a good variety of items served every day. Despite the large crowds of people, things seemed to flow smoothly and the restaurant was kept clean during service too. I do not remember all their names but will surely make note of and mention a few soon. The lobby bar served both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and was in a very nice and breezy location. The evening musical entertainment was a fun way to end each evening singing along or dancing to the songs by the duo or DJ! I was slightly disappointed that room service had a 400 Rupee tray charge for each delivery of you weren’t on a Full board or all inclusive package. If not for that charge I would have probably ordered room service occasionally. I must say that they were quite prompt to provide other requests like fresh milk for my morning chai. Minibar had some nice snacks, the banana chips were my favorite, the cheese sticks not so much. Filtered water was provided and replenished as needed at no further charge. This helped to stay well hydrated during the sunny days. The Jade restaurant meal was delicious and it was ethereal to sit at the shore and hear the waves at the shore during dinner. Very nice ambience. A bit pricey but enjoyable. The Waves restaurant was also by the sea and very nice ambience and staff too. The food was delicious but I did find the portions on the smaller side. Luckily they served warm house made bread. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Mauritius to spend a few days at this hotel. It was well worth it for us. We were made to feel welcome and special. I hope to return with members of my family in the future.
