Riu Palace Mauritius

Hotel jsme navštívili v březnu po cyklónu, ale kdybychom to nevěděli, nic bychom nepoznali. Podle našeho názoru, byl hotel obsazen tak ze 60-70%. U bazénu i na pláži bylo poloprázdno a jen na večeři jste mohli vidět, kolik hostů v hotelu asi je. Hotel je zcela nově zrekonstruovaný, vše je nové. Personál je velmi milý a ochotný. PLÁŽ- hotel se nachází na větrnější straně, první 2 dny nám opravdu hodně foukalo, že jsem leželi raději u bazénu. Co mi velmi vadilo byli bezohlední hosté, kteří každou chvíli pouštěly drony. Šla jsem si o stěžovat Security hotelu, ale nic nevyřešili. Toto by si měl hotel pohlídat, hosté chtějí mít soukromí, a ne ,aby jim nad hlavou neustále létal dron. Stačilo by jen upozornění, že jsou drony v rezortu zakázané!!! JÍDLO- velmi dobré, jen menší výběr ovoce. Z ala carte restaurací jsme vyzkoušeli indickou- nedoporučuji, asijskou- velmi dobrá a fine restaurant- taktéž doporučuji. Rezervaci jsme dělali na recepci. POKOJ- nový, účelně zařízený. V našem pokoji však chyběly háčky na župany, na zdi byly jen tužkou označené místa, kam mají přijít. REZORT- na první pohled velmi pěkný rezort, při bližším zkoumání ale poznáte, že trošku to je odbyté. Také mi vadil špatný úklid společných prostor. Schody, po kterých jsme chodili za celý týden nikdo neuklidil. Také jídlo, které bylo přineseno hostům do pokoje, bylo uklizeno až další den. VEČERNÍ PROGRAM- velmi velmi slabý, na úrovni mateřské školky…. Hotel hodnotím celkově kladně vzhledem k milému a ochotnému personálu a celkovém vzhledu hotelu. Je však určitě potřeba na některých věcech zapracovat.

Před odletem jsme měli opravdu strach, jestli jsme vybrali správný hotel. Po recenzích, co jsme se tu dočetli, jsme byli velmi rozpolceni. Ale! Byli jsme velmi příjemně překvapeni. Pokoje pěkné, čisté. Buffet velmi rozmanitý - asijská kuchyně, Španělská, pizza, ramen každý den výběr z několika druhů ryb. Naše mlsné jazýčky byly uspokojeny. Bazén, pláž bezkonkurenční ! Personální - vždy velmi milý ochotný, i když v některých případech by potřeboval více zaškolit. Ale jak říkám v každé situaci byl velmi příjemný a nápomocný. Nebyla to naše první návštěva sítě Riu Hotel , máme s tohle síti velmi dobré zkušenosti. Napodruhé nás nezklamali. Děkuji 🩷

After a VERY long day of travelling it was nice to see such a warm and welcoming smile from Smita at reception , got us a drink and quickly checked us in. The rooms are fairly spacious and easily slept all 3 of us , a large TV with plenty of channels (including premiership football) , well stocked and restocked fridge with soft drinks and beer a safe and plenty of storage. The bathroom was large with two basins and a great waterfall shower . Rooms were cleaned daily and i'm sorry to say I totally forgot to leave a tip for the cleaner . SORRY The hotel is quite small but never felt crowded , always somewhere to sit by the pool or the beach with lots of sunbeds . The pool bar is a nice place to sit and have a drink or get a snack from Pepes (serves burgers , fries, salad etc). The main buffet restaurant was always full of choice from curries and Asian food to pasta , salads , roast meats and fresh noodle dishes. I never heard one complaint about the food , which is very unusual ! The other restaurants were very good , especially the Asian and steakhouse. All the staff were so helpful and friendly , hard to pick out an individual because they were ALL excellent . There isn't anything around the hotel apart from a few other hotels (the Riu next door is where most of the entertainment is and you have full access to their facilities but is not adults only) , but never felt like I had cabin fever . You can walk along the beach or up to the mountain which takes about 30 minutes.

We had an absolutely great time at Riu Palace and were extremely happy with the overall experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, great food, comfortable, and very well run, but what really made our stay memorable was the incredible housekeeping staff. Every day we were surprised with the most spectacular and creative towel decorations — a small touch that made a big difference and always put a smile on our faces. The staff clearly take pride in what they do, and it shows. Thank you to the wonderful team at Riu Palace for making our stay so special. We would happily return!

Loved our time at Riu Palace Mauritius! I love a "village" feel resort that is well spaced out so you never feel crowded and cramped and this resort didn't disappoint. The hotel is spread over emaculate garden grounds edging onto a beautiful beach. Well laid out paths led around the complex and over to the adjacent Riu Turquoise. Great way to stretch your legs after lounging on the beach, and ending at the foot of Mount Brabant. Also a lovely walk in the evening fruit bat spotting! Plenty of space to find a quiet corner, or watch the activities on the water (if not joining in!) Covered walkways from our room to the restaurant were appreciated when raining. We arrived early afternoon after a night flight so were pretty shattered, but were greeted with a drink and a smile from all staff. Check-in was smooth and swift and as our room was ready early we could head straight there. Our room was one of the furthest from reception and I did wonder where he was taking us when initially shown to our room. It was perfect for us however, we were in a lovely quiet spot with no noise at night and one of the closest rooms to the beach! Rooms were clean and well maintained, bed was huge and comfortable. Fridge in the room stocked daily with large bottles of still and spakling water, soft drinks and beer. Ordered more water via the app on particularily hot days. We sat on the beach most days as we like the dappled shade of the palm trees and watching the picture perfect sunset, but there were also plenty of beds with shade around the pool. Wind and sea conditions varied daily, some days perfect for snorkeling other great for the kite surfers. Beach shoes are not essential as there are sandy spots where you can walk in to the sea, but preferable due to the coral, urchins and other sea life. Also might be more comfortable if planning to walk along the beach, as gritty from the coral in places and that sand gets hot! When the sea is calm its shallow clear water from the shore and you can walk out quite a way. Keep an eye on sea conditions though as stronger currents in places. Plenty of sea life seen snorkelling from the shore, multitude of fish, octopus, eels, crabs, sea snake. Food wise there is lots of choice at the main buffet resturant. Pre-prepared foods like a variety of salads but the various fresh cook stations are the main draw - ramen counter, pasta station, fresh grilled food and fresh cooked mauritian food. Also more plainer food like burgers, chips, pizza etc. Lots of choices available as can eat a different style food every night. I don't understand reviews that say it's repetative, but I suppose it depending how much you eat each night! Also ate at the other restaurants during our stay with no problem booking in on the app. You have Krystal and Kaori as adult only dining at Riu Palace plus the steakhouse and indian restaurants at the Riu Turquoise next door. Enjoyed all of our dining experiences at these and went back to each during our second week. Loved having the option of the coffee shop for a tasty cappucino in the afternoon or latte with breakfast. Also recommend the iced coffee with Baileys from the beach bar! Lots of choice from the bars with daily speciality cocktails. The bar staff always worked hard the keep the queue moving and the staff at the evening bar especially worked their socks off! We didn't go on any organised trips but did make use of the hotel taxis to Ganga Talaou (Grand Bassin) and the Chamerel rum distillery. Taxi drivers were more like tour guides giving info on the island on the drive and suggested stop offs at view points for photos. They waited at the destination for us for a couple of hours then returned us to the hotel. This was for a fixed priced which the hotel told us in advanced and seemed reasonably priced. Great way to go on a more adhoc private tour if not wanting to join a larger group. On check-out day, the courtesy rooms were a game changer. Check-out time is pretty reasonable anyway but we were on a night flight so not leaving the hotel till later. We were able to have some morning beach time, breakfast and pool swim before it was time to leave the room and take the luggage to reception. Luggage was stored off reception and we could carry on our day until late afternoon. Retrieved our luggage and the key to one of the courtesy rooms which are equiped with sinks, changing area, hair dryer and 2 shower cubicles. Great to be able to shower and change before a coffee and final drink in the bar before our taxi transfer to the airport. And the main thing that makes this resort special?..... the staff! Every single person was so friendly, every person we met had a smile, a good morning, a flower for your hair. The front of house staff in the reception, bars, restaurants but also the gardeners, cleaning staff and maintaince crew. We hope they are all getting the praise they deserve from Riu!
