Nice Hotel.Huge Rooms with lot of Space. Nice Balcony also. The whole staff was very friendly and competent. Breakfast Buffet was very good and well organized. The Pool Area is amazing....also the Wellness /Gym Center.The Location is close to Avenida 5.The Supermarket at the Groundfloor is fantastic.

New hotel just a bit off 5th Ave - very convenient and easily walkable access to shopping, the beaches, restaurants without being in the middle of the action and noise. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and our stay has so far been very comfortable and enjoyable. My status as a Bonvoy platinum member was acknowledged and appreciated - received an upgraded room with a balcony (with a small table and two chairs) and complimentary breakfast buffet (which was excellent with a variety of choices). The amenities are wonderful - two rooftop infinity pools (we appreciated that one of them was quiet with no music); lots of lounging areas on the rooftop including a bar / food service area; well equipped fitness room that was bright and airy. I would definitely stay here again. There are a few things that can be improved but they’re not issues for us: A heated pool would be nice - it was a bit rainy and quite windy when we were here so a little warmer water would have been nice. The lounger pads should be replaced (too thin, ripped and dirty) and pillows should be replaced or cleaned. The flooring in the bathroom should be changed to something more water friendly - the flooring has gotten water damaged. A $25 USD or $500 MX peso deposit is required to obtain a pool towel card which you get back when you return the card. These towels are small and extremely thin - who would want to steal them? We brought beach towels with us so we decided not to risk losing our towel cards and used our own towels. You’re better off to pack beach towels or just buy one for a souvenir.

The location was excellent for me. It's about 1.5 blocks from the main strip. Close enough that it is an easy walk. Far enough that it avoids the chaos and noise. It's still in the city. You still get some noise. The hotel checks the boxes. Has a beautiful rooftop. Functional gym. Reliable wifi. Nice staff. Our room was cleaned daily. You have to put a deposit down for incidentals instead of a card. So there is kind of a guessing game as to what credit you have left. The breakfast was reliable and good. It was a completely booked hotel for the holidays and they were still able to take care of guests to a high standard.

This was a terrible experience and I will never stay here again. For Bonvoy platinum members, the breakfast is an egg and a bad cup of coffee. If you want fruit, you have to pay extra. They make you wear a wristband your whole stay that flags you as a tourist. No upgrade or benefits for platinum members. The front desk staff were very rude, in particular the manager Daniela Vega. I checked out early, and they said they could not refund my deposit to my American Express account - that I would need to give them my bank and routing number, which I refused to do.

My husband and I spent four nights at the Aloft in Playa del Carmen and really enjoyed our stay. The service was great, the room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The pool area looked just like the photos. Since it wasn’t peak season, we had no trouble getting a cabana (which is free of charge). We didn’t try the on-site restaurant, so I can’t comment on the food, but the hotel does offer towel rentals for a small fee if you’re heading to the beach. There’s also a grocery store and a liquor/beer store conveniently located in the same building. The best part was definitely the location. It’s within walking distance to both Fifth Avenue and 38th Street. We highly recommend checking out 38th; it’s full of great bars/restaurants , a local brewery, and direct beach access. The hotel is on the opposite end of Fifth Avenue from Parque Los Fundadores, which we actually preferred since it felt less touristy but still had plenty of great restaurants and easy access to the beach. Our only complaint was the noise at night. You can hear live music and crowds from Fifth Avenue until around 1 a.m. It didn’t bother us too much, but a common complaint in our reviews. We did have a baloney suite facing fifth avenue. Overall, we’d definitely recommend the Aloft for its great service, comfort, and excellent location.
