Excellent Old Hotel on the main street in Bydgosczc. You are approximately a 5 minute walk to the Main Square. The rooms could use a Reno job, as everything is old. Room had free water/tea and coffee. Unfortunately, parking was not free. It cost 65zl a day ($24 Canadian). I found it a little steep!!! Other than that, we enjoyed our stay here and walking around the close-by attractions.

I stayed in a single room 12-14 October 2024. Liked: * (Location) The hotel is within walking distance of Bydgoszcz old town and river Brda, and about a 15 min walk to Rondo Jagiellonow bus stop for bus 80 to/from Bydgoszcz airport. The hotel is about a 20 min walk to the Bydgoszcz bus terminal for long distance buses. For fitness enthusiasts, the hotel is also a 1-2 min walk to a local park with a calisthenic set up. There are nearby cafes and supermarkets (Zabka). * (Staff) Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. * (Architecture) The hotel is incredibly beautiful on the outside and the inside. Even the main door handle is an elaborate piece of metalwork. * (History) As with many things in Poland, there is a history behind the ownership and use of the building, ending with the current ownership and management by Focus group. Photos of the previous owners and the Majewicz family make you feel like you are a part of that history. The room key is attached to a gold coloured metallic key holder, which reinforces the point about the hotel's history. * (Curtains in room) Three layers - decorative layer, permeable layer, blackout layer. * (Facilities) restaurant (available for breakfast, lunch and dinner), sauna and gym (3/F) available for 24 hour use by guests, billiard room, printing at the reception (within reason). The reception staff very kindly printed my Ryanair boarding pass. Breakfast not included in my booking, but available for purchase at PLN 65. * (Main amenities - room) The room had a single bed (with sheets and duvet), desk, two chairs, bedside table, corner table, two lamps, kettle, mini fridge, TV, free tea/coffee and two small bottles of water, three security hangers in wardrobe (no security box), thermometer (mercury). Unclear whether air conditioning is available - there did not appear to be a remote control or thermostat. * (Main amenities - bathroom) The bathroom included a bathtub with hand held shower head, toilet, sink and towels. The hotel provided 2-in-1 body soap/shampoo at the bathtub and hand soap at the sink, glass for gargling and hair dryer. No tooth brush, toothpaste or other toiletries. Disliked: * (Noise) My room faced the side street Parkowa where there was a bar in the ground floor of the building opposite. My first night being a Saturday night meant I didn't get much sleep due to noise. Also, as the hotel faces a tramway, tram noises early in the morning could also be heard in my room. * (WiFi) The WiFi connection inside the room is not particularly strong. It was 2 bars at most, but at 2 bars, it is sufficient to watch YouTube videos. WiFi in the reception and other common areas appeared to be fine. Presumably for this reason, there was another guest who would sit on the ground floor chairs to use their own laptop and talk on their mobile. * (Lack of air con) It wasn't clear to me that air conditioning was available in the room.

We stayed in the hotel 2 nights. Hotel is situated in historical building, with amazing stairs. Rooms were nice, comfortable beds, quite big bathroom. There was a fridge, TV, hairdresser. The breakfast was so nice, tasty, big choise, I liked it so much. There was also gym and sauna, but we didnt use it. Hotel is quite in the centre, just short distance to the main square. There is a hotel parking with extra charge. I can recommend it to all.
