The Patio Suite Hotel

A perfectly sized hotel allowing for space to swim, relax and enjoy being on holiday. I would recommend upgrading to the deluxe suite if possible as you get a private outside space with a cabana and sun-loungers along with a table and chairs for alfresco dining. The food was plentiful and varied to suit all tastes. The fresh pizza oven and the pancake machine in the restaurant was a particular hit. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to 2 local beaches - one of which the hotel has a private area where sun beds can be booked for a charge. I’d recommend Bolt taxi app for the cheapest way to get around to the local areas.

Really Lovely Hotel. Immaculately clean. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent selection of food and drinks on the all inclusive and food available at all times of day. You could never be hungry here! Overall a lovely holiday. Would definitely recommend.

Was looking to choose Good, but no option. Just back from this hotel at the weekend. This is my honest review. The studio room was a super size with kitchen and huge shower. I was very impressed . Larger than I expected. Nothing left in the fridge and no coffee facilities if that is what you would be looking for, The pool areas were fine, you could find a bed if you looked about at either pool. You do not need to bring towels and can easily get two. Food - Breakfast/Lunch was very nice. I felt the choice of main courses at night time were slightly limited and there could really be 2/4 more. Outwith the veg choice (4 dishes) and the fried options (nuggets/fishfingers et) there were 4 choices. I must say they were all usually very nice, but the choice was just a little too limited. I am forgetting the pizza area, which looked good, to be fair. We did not try the snack bar areas, but both pool bars seemed busy. The evening entertainment was fairly poor if I am being honest. If you are used to what I would say is an evening show, then you will be disappointed. The drinks were a little bit of a hit and a miss cocktails/sangria/spirits. Some better than others. Beer good, but drinking from plastic glasses in the evening is a big no for my hubby. We found most of the staff to be really nice. The restaurant staff were very good. Elizabet definitely deserves a mention. She makes a superb cappuccino. Did we have a good holiday, yes we did. We only booked it 2 days before so did not do our usual thorough checking before we booked. If we had our 2 kids 20 /22 with us they would have been bored. We would have had to go out and about a lot more. Would we go back, not sure, maybe if we got a decent deal. The very average evening entertainment and the plastic glasses probably be the reason why. This will not be a deal breaker for many. If you want a very quiet holiday/hotel with plenty of areas to walk round about, you will be fine.

Staff discriminatory against young girls, patronising and unnecessarily rude. my first girls holiday and I’m excited to come to Portugal, but being spoken to in a unpleasant manner, is having a negative effect on my experience

I have never before felt compelled enough to write a bad review. On this occasion however I feel that our experience at this hotel, and our whole holiday was ruined by a particular staff member, a manager in fact named Paola I believe. For context we are a group of young women, and at no point when booking, arriving or when googling the company did we receive any information about a dress code at this hotel. We have seen a lot of customers wearing bikinis and sheer coverups in the lobby and common areas as well as shorts and vest tops in all areas of the hotel. Guests in the dining room wear flip flops and shorts. At dinner on our first night at this hotel our friend was accosted by a male staff member who came from behind and grabbed her rather harshly and sternly told her in front of other groups that what she could not what she was wearing again. It was a black short dress.This staff member told her again in the same dinner in a very infuriated way but did not say what was inappropriate with what she was wearing and many guests were dressed similarly. They also did not ask her to leave and change. The following day my other friend was in the reception wearing a skirt and a strappy top, this covered her to a suitable level, we were approached and asked if we were a certain room by Paula. She then said that she had a written letter for us about what we were wearing as well as an incident report! (Neither of which we were allowed to see) Upon seeing my friend’s outfit she felt the need to approach us. This manager was very condescending and spoke down to us. She told my friend to spin around in front of us, pointed to her bottom and then asked us if we thought what she was wearing was acceptable. We were confused and then she told my friend that we had no respect for ourselves and women look better covered up. She also threatened to have us removed from the hotel, which was rather distressing on the second day of our trip, and we felt the need to hide and were extremely embarrassed. Of course we would have been happy to follow any dress code that the hotel had, as we understand we are travellers and there may be cultural differences or some places require you to dress more formal in dining areas. However when we pressed further there was no elaboration on what was or was not acceptable, and again many other guests were dressed similarly. Upon leaving the hotel we decided to leave a verbal complaint to said manager which fell on deaf ears. We were not apologised to properly and she said that she was ‘old enough to be our mother’ (TRUE) and had no response as to the dress code or how she spoke to us. All we wanted was a proper apology and some accountability. We received neither. What we did receive was attitude and appalling customer service. She asked us very aggressively when we were leaving. Luckily we waited until check out to complain. I can’t believe I paid to be verbally abused. Oh and the desserts are not the best. This does not reflect all the staff, some of you make a mean cocktail x
