Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort

This is our second time at Tivoli which speaks volumes as it’s the first time we’ve ever returned to a resort! We enjoyed the hotel facilities and the warm, wonderful and welcoming staff to return after our visit in 2023!, We breakfasted each day at Mad Med where Sayana, Rachid, Nicole, Danial, Vanessa, Antonio and Paula (who cooked our wonderful eggs breakfast dishes) made our mornings perfect! In the evenings there’s a choice of two à la carte restaurants or buffet! We spent most of our time in Roastic, where Tiago, (our friendly and amazing waiter) Isabel and Daniel B looked after us each evening! The food in Essence (buffet lunch offering) was really great with a wide selection of options and a great variety! The resort has a selection of pools and it’s great that there’s an adult only pool if you want a more relaxed atmosphere! Plenty of activities on site with easy access to beaches and the lovely local town of Alvor! The resort has plenty of bars on site our favourite was the Shore where Abdullah and Samar were always so welcoming (they also served up the best cocktails)!! We’ve named a few staff members but you’ll be hard pushed not to be impressed by all the friendly approachable staff! I’d also like to wish Clinton (who manned a pool bar) on his first day - what a lovely young man, all the best in his career! Here’s wishing all at Tivoli the best in the remaining season! We are already thinking of a return… hope to see you next year!

Exactly what we needed. Still here having an amazing time. Foods spot on. Definitely upgrade to premium package. Kids club team are great.

We stayed here as a premium all-inclusive family with our 18-month old and overall had a lovely holiday. The resort is very family friendly and we would likely return, although there are definitely a few areas that could be improved to really elevate the experience. Pros: * Excellent family resort with plenty for young children, including the kids’ club, mini disco, and supervised activities. * The buffet selection was fantastic, with lots of variety that changed daily for both lunch and dinner. Everything was constantly replenished and the vegetarian options were especially impressive. Although , there could be better toddler options and toddler cutlery included as the toddler selection felt quite repetitive. * Very easy to get a sunbed around the pool in the mornings * Beautiful access to the beach and a lovely walk into Alvor. * We really enjoyed the cocktails and drinks overall. Areas for improvement: * Check-in felt quite chaotic on arrival. Our room was on the second floor with no lift access, which was difficult with a toddler and buggy. * After 7pm there was no proper outdoor bar area open. Most guests were either sitting outside the Shore Bar or queuing at the tent bar, where waits could be quite long. It would be great if at least one outdoor bar stayed open later in the evenings. * The coffee quality was disappointing. * The à la carte restaurants did not meet expectations. We waited over an hour in the Italian restaurant for two pizzas and a pasta dish, and the steak in the Rustic restaurant was too tough to eat. * The flooring around the pool was very uncomfortable to walk on barefoot. * The water in the children’s splash pool was extremely cold and would benefit from being heated.

Super resort we were group of 10. Nothing was too much trouble. Really enjoyed it !

Arrived for a 5 night stay — the hotel itself is stunning with beautiful grounds and everything was kept extremely clean throughout our stay. However, on arrival and checking in we weren’t really given any explanation on how the hotel works or the many rules they have, which would have been helpful. Some staff were lovely and friendly, although others came across quite miserable and unwelcoming. After checking in we then had to find our own room and carry our suitcases up two flights of stairs as there was no lift. This wasn’t the end of the world for us personally, but it’s definitely something to bear in mind when booking. The hotel facilities themselves are good. There are multiple pools, although it’s mainly three family pools in one area and then one separate adults-only pool, which was lovely and much more relaxing. A positive was there were no sunbed wars or towels being left out early in the morning. In the evenings there aren’t really any bars open apart from a bar inside a large tent area in front of reception, which is the only place to really sit and enjoy a drink at night. Because of this, there were often long queues as the bar itself is quite small. The drinks were okay, but most cocktails seemed to be made from premix or machines and served in normal glasses, so it didn’t really give that holiday cocktail feel. The drinks menu was also a little limited compared to other all-inclusive hotels we’ve stayed at. The buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner was nice with a decent selection, however the à la carte restaurants were disappointing. The starters are buffet style and we didn’t enjoy the mains very much, so overall the experience didn’t feel very special. The location of the hotel is fabulous though. Alvor is beautiful — quiet during the day but lively in the evenings with plenty to see and do, and only around a €2 Uber away. We personally didn’t enjoy Portimão as much as it felt a little rougher and we felt slightly uneasy there.
