Marathon Beach Resort

After the canceling of our flight our group of 44 Belgians was very confused and tired.. We got a warm welcome in the hotel by a very friendly staff, a nice room, a fresh drink and a late lunch. In the nice garden we could have a tasteful diner. In the next morning they even opened the breafast earlier. Thank you for this great service. Top!

Our stay at Marathon Beach Resort was unfortunately a letdown from the start. We booked a half-board package for our family of five, including three children, but the experience did not match the promise. Upon arrival, we were crammed into a single, small suite with two extra beds, leaving no space for our belongings. The room oddly had no cupboards, forcing us to live out of our bags. Toilets are cramped and the floor tilt is wrong which makes the entire bathroom wet after shower. The "half-board" dinner was a major issue. We were given vouchers for off-site restaurants a 5-7 minute walk away, which was not ideal with young children. The vouchers were extremely limited just one wrap and one starter per person—and we were even charged for water and salad. On one occasion, a salad listed on the voucher menu was billed to us, with staff claiming the small charge was "faint" on the menu, which felt very dishonest. The hotel also advertised a spa, but when my partner tried to book a manicure, she was directed to a private, off-site salon, which made her uncomfortable. The advertised services—from the half-board meals to the "spa"—were not as promised. We ended up spending a lot more money than expected due to the hotel's misrepresentations. The area is close to the beach but the beach is not very good. It's busy with people so you can't find space easily. Also good luck finding a cab to take you anywhere. Literally none. Had to pay 100 Euros to go to city one way. We cannot recommend this hotel.

This hotel has a lot of positives and exceeded my expectations at this price point. The bedroom was bright and clean with great views, a cute balcony and a fridge. Great wi fi and air conditioning. The food service by the pool was better than some I have had at resorts that cost 5 times more with everything freshly prepared and very good service from Orfeas. I witnessed Lisa (the manager) being exceptionally kind to someone with special physical needs, going out of her way for him. There are lots of restaurants and bars just outside the hotel and the main town has great coffee shops.

For a short stay I would recommend this Hotel, the rooms are freshly renovated and are clean and the size is ok. The staff is nice and helpful. Pool area is nice and clean with enough sun chairs and it has a lovely bar. Breakfast was ok but nothing fancy. I would never book half board again, the hotel does not have a kitchen, you have to get a voucher at the reception every evening and then you are sent to a nearby restaurant which is not really the best choice. there are better, affordable restaurants nearby. I did not use the beach. the surrounding is nothing spectacular a little rundown, the city-center is about 1,5km further north.

This place is a joke. I reserved a double room and they gave me a room with 2 twin beds. They claimed I didn’t asked on my reservation for a full size bed. Then the room old as Greece, nicely remodeled rooms with old very old towels and curtains falling off the rail. Staff did not even tried to solve the issue with the beds. I left the next day and find a better hotel. Stay away from this place. The area is very sketchy. Don’t fall for the proximity to the beach. I showed them the ripped towel and they claimed in my face that it wasn’t theirs.
