We were a bit skeptical at first due to the lack of reviews…. But the rooms were clean and well kept with a lovely pool and friendly guests! We ate out at Spiros Taverna just a short 5 minute walk and I can highly reccomend! Amazing staff and good food…. The owner of the apartments is a lovely man who does all his work at night so never disturbs your peace! perfect place if you want a cheap and fairly quiet holiday

We booked this through easyJet and paid a good price for the 8 nights we stayed so we felt this was decent accommodation overall. It’s very typically Greek, with basic bedrooms, kitchenette and a small bathroom. The rooms were really very large and we were happy with these. The air con in our room never got cool enough to hit the spot but we also didn’t say anything as it didn’t bother us too much so potentially this could be easily resolved. The shower is handheld only and is pretty basic as you would expect. But hot/cold water when wanted, and a decent water pressure at all times! Room had a small kettle for hot drinks (but no teaspoon, there was a dessert spoon though!) Little veranda/balcony out the front to enjoy, felt very private. The pool was beautiful, small but functional and very quiet also. Well maintained. Our only comments which I hadnt realised before (we must have been spoiled on our last 2* place!) is that sheets and towels only get changed every 4 nights, no option to request these sooner. And the bins (big bin and toilet bin) must be emptied daily by yourselves as there is no housekeeping service other than night 4. No issues for us doing this, and my own fault for not realising this before so no complaints either. Overall would absolutely recommend to all, and would return in future

Stayed for 1 week, late booking. Checked trip advisor reviews but there were only a few but seemed OK so took a chance. The studios are clen, large with plenty of storage place for your clothes but the bathroom is small and the shower cubicle very compact. The water was always hot. We were on the ground floor with a nice sized patio and could see the sea through the buildings. The upper floors would have a lovely sea view though. We had a sticky start to the holiday. When we arrived from out flight, the apartment, which was on the 2nd floor wasn't ready. We noticed a couple by the pool as we arrived and as we got to our room ( as indicated on a piece of paper near the manager's office on the ground floor) one of the couple came up to the room. The manager had arrived by then. The couples cases and stuff was still in our room and it was clear he had allowed them to keep the room on even though he knew we were about to arrive. He said the room wouldn't be ready until 1.30. Not ideal. Instead of being able to get into our air conditioned room, have a rest, make a drink and relax, we had to leave our cases unattended on the landing and go down to the village in the heat in our travelling clothes ( I wasn't wearing shorts) to kill a couple of hours. We returned to the studios at 1.30 but the room still was not ready. I was hot and exhausted by the uphill walk and needed to sit so I asked if there was a ground floor room we could have instead. Thankfully, he was just finishing cleaning one and said we could have this instead. I literally flopped onto the bed. The pool is nice, clean and a decent size. The sheets were changed and the studio cleaned once during our stay. Yhe test of the time you empty your own bins. Typical self catering- we had one hot plate ( some may have 2 as there are two incoorporated into the side of the sink but ours didnt work) and a few basic utensils and crockery in the cupboard. The beds are comfortable enough but the pillows very soft so not great when trying to sleep as offer no support. The air-conditioning is fine and is included in the price as is the room safe which usually incurs a charge. There is an under counter fridge in the room and a kettle but no microwave or toaster. But we always eat out so this wasn't a problem. What let's the studios down is the lack of a pool bar. ( Had I researched properly, this would have put me off booking the accommodation but this is my own fault) We got into the habit of using the pool in the morning with drinks for our room and then walking down to the village and using the pool at Captain Zorba's the rest of the day which was free of charge. That way, we could stay, have lunch and drinks as we needed and walk back up to the studios late afternoon when it wasn't so hot. The studios are not suitable for those with mobility problems as there is a short steep hill then a slightly longer less steep climb up to them. Takes about 5-8minutes . There are apartments just down the less steep part of the hill from the Agathagelos called Souvalos. They are owned by the same people and if you book B&B this is where you have breakfast. These have a pool bar and you can access the village from there via a set of steps and you can use this pool and facilities here too if you stay at the Agathagelos. There is a supermarket just at the bottom of the hill and another one about 75m further on. The shop has ample stocks of anything you may need. Please note, there are no facilities for foreign exchange in the village so take plenty of euros. There is an ATM though from which you can withdraw funds if you run out. We ate most of the time at Captain Zorba's as we liked the food and the friendly staff but there are several other places to eat. We tried La Mer , the food was very nice, the chocolate dessert very much so, but the service wasn't as prompt. It was really busy and I suggest you book if you want a table overlooking the sea. Very nice to view the sunset. As is The Ionion View, where the food is just as good and the staff much friendlier. But, to be fare, the restaurants all serve much of the same, and all serve good food. You can also hire quads, scooters or cars Captain Zorba's but we were here just for a chilled holiday so we didn't bother but met other couples who did and they were happy with the cars ( they are new). We did do a day trip tour of the island which took us to the Melissa's Cave, and the villages of Asos and Fiskardo. All worth a look but we got to the villages at the hottest part of the day and there was a walk down and back up ( Kefalonia is hilly, 80% is mountainous and only 20% flat according to the guide) so make sure you take a drink, a hat and high factor sun lotion with you. We ate lunch on the harbour in Fiskardo which was nice and Asos is very pretty. The views of the island from the bus are beautiful, lots of sandy bays, mountains and blue sea. All in all, we had a lovely time. Although Kefalonia is mountainous Vlachata, the village where the Agathaggelos studios are located is flat, but the walk down to the beaches is steep Pros- studios clean, nice pool, quiet situation, friendly Cons- no pool bar, tiny shower area, situated up a hill, small village with only a few places to eat

Very apprehensive to book these apartments as only four reviews on trip advisor. Took a chance and booked a last minute package with easyjet. So glad we did as we had a superb holiday. Slight issue when we arrived as the apartments have not got a name sign, also no reception. We soon discovered apartments have your name on the door with the key left in. The apartments are very basic but not a problem as it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We had a second floor room with fantastic views over the sea, but the added bonus was late afternoon we could carry table and chairs outside (cooler) and had amazing mountain views. What was also amazing was we met some really lovely people who we were sad to say goodbye to, shout out to Paul and Anita, as well as Peter. Some splendid restaurants down the hill, perhaps are favourites were Slovaki and La Mer, also the brilliant cocktail bar Astra. Sea views fabulous from restaurants and Astras. Supermarkets also nearby. If you turn left from the apartments and up the hill you will find a great bakery and another supermarket. Pool was lovely just perfect for cooling off, never once did we struggle for a sun bed. Would highly recommend if you like a totally chilled out holiday with great scenery and food.
