Before the negative review, I would like to thank Marlon for his kind hospitality and nature. He always made us smile Maria and Konstantina were absolutely brilliant, they truly felt more than an everyday face but a friend throughout our 2 week stay. We will miss them dearly. Thank you The start of holiday we were blown away by room tour and drop off by buggy but by day 2 the faults appeared. The room smelled of sewage everyday, and neighbours mentioned same issue. Service in many areas were very poor, tables not being cleared, staff on phones and even staff eating behind counters and smoking. From a 5* establishment, what we recieved was simply something else Thankfully we had a deluxe sea view swim up room which did catch the sun but we were made aware by other unhappy customers that their were ongoing "sunbed wars" everyday and you must be up at atleast 7am to grab a bed...again nothing else you would expect from a hotel of the standard promised Rooms were not cleaned thoroughly and as you passed a tissue over "cleaned floor" the tissue remained dirty throughout the duration here (I dont believe this was a lack of care from the cleaning team but a major understaffing issue) the "fresh towels" given daily were stained most days and pen marks and writing on them The buffet selection was poor, and so were the many restaurants in the hotel. We dined out everyday and recieved a better quality of food than what was on site. One lady on reception was very rude and made inappropriate remarks which made us uncomfortable to return. We were also denied pool towels, her response was not today and when we forgot our keys in the room and requested another one we were told not to forget again We had raised complaints to management several times about the issues and we had no resolution, an almost not our problem solution This hotel is not 5* and it feels almost a scam. The photos of hotel are beautiful but once here the surroundings are not as serene as advertised, never been so disappointed on a holiday. We will never be back at this hotel and strongly advise that you chose somewhere else and don't follow influencer videos that only show you the positives. The manager dealt with us the 2nd time and stated that the hotel faced many complaints regarding the same issues raised by us everyday but they still refused to address them through our stay, and after saying he would call our room to discuss complaints further their is no surprise a phone call was never made I really believe your star rating should be changed because in no way is this hotel 5 star. The service, cleanliness and facilities do not match that rating and we have never been so shocked by a hotel
We stayed from the 16th-26th june (didn’t arrive until 17th at 2am. Mixed reviews on this hotel but I definitely wouldn’t come back. They cut your wrist band the last day which makes you pay for everything the whole day until you leave (lunch coupon only given). I’ve never heard of such thing. I am not one to complain and usually let things slide but for the amount you pay for this hotel you would expect the standards to be higher. I wouldn’t class this as a 5 star hotel at all. Customer service don’t care basically best way to put it. Pros of the hotel; ✅ check in fast and smooth ✅ aesthetic hotel, beautiful sunsets ✅great drinks and food cannot fault the al a carte restaurants Cons; ❌your bedding does not get changed at all your whole stay even after complaining twice ❌wasps nest on the balcony so couldn’t use your balcony ❌boiling hot showers makes it unusable even after complaining ❌dirty cups left by the pool all day ❌not a great location. A few shops and restaurants but nothing major ❌beach towels can only be changed once every two days ❌fighting for a sun lounger (not enough for the amount of people that are here) ❌bar opens at 11. Makes a lot of sense to why now as when people are checking out at 11 you will be made to pay. I definitely won’t be returning as it’s a shame because there can be a lot of potential for this hotel.
Many sunbeds were already reserved and there's staff who do not move from the sunbed in the pool around 4am in the morning.
Very disappointing experience. From the first day, you're expected to do everything yourself. We had to complete our own check-in forms for all guests and book our own restaurant reservations. There are three à la carte restaurants, but it's almost impossible to get a booking for at least the first two days. The bar staff were extremely rude and often seemed reluctant to serve drinks. Throughout our stay, no staff came around to offer drinks or collect empty cups, meaning we spent much of the day walking to the bar ourselves and clearing our own tables. While that's not necessarily a problem in itself, it's not what you expect from a hotel that claims to be 5-star. At one point, a waiter told me off for cleaning a table and said I should have waited to be seated, despite the fact that I had already asked another member of staff for assistance. To top it off, today my son went to exchange our beach towels after two days and was told off, being told towels should only be changed every two days—which is exactly what he had done. The fact that guests cannot change beach towels daily is disappointing enough, but having to walk to reception each time to do so makes it even more inconvenient. Overall, the service has been poor, staff have been unhelpful and unfriendly, and the hotel falls far short of the standards expected from a 5-star resort.
Enorme Santanna Beach Resort, Crete — Honest Review We checked in late in the evening, and unfortunately it didn’t feel particularly welcoming. With reduced staff and a QR-code check-in process that wasn’t explained very clearly, it felt a little confusing after a long day of travelling. The infamous sunbed situation was definitely a thing — queues at opening time, followed by a flood of towels left unattended for hours. Sunbed wars are alive and well! We booked premium all-inclusive, so it was disappointing to find that not all drinks were included. That felt slightly misleading, as I assumed “premium” all-inclusive would cover the full drinks menu. The fridge in the room was only stocked with one bottle of water per day, where was the snacks and cans of juice at for being premium all inclusive ! Need goodies in the room , come on this is a necessity. The à la carte restaurants were good, but the snack bar was actually my favourite. We ate there for brunch and late lunch most days and really enjoyed it. The hotel is ideal if you want a chilled, relaxed break. There isn’t much to do in the evenings beyond having a cocktail and watching the sunset — but to be fair, the sunsets are absolutely incredible and probably the best part of the stay. Our room was lovely, had everything we needed and was kept very clean. However, the housekeeping experience was mixed. I asked a cleaner if she could collect some plastic cups left by other guests near the sunbeds, as I was worried they might attract insects, and was met with, “Am I a bartender now?” Not the friendliest response. Also: the bites! Whether they were sandflies or mosquitoes, my arms and legs were absolutely covered. They definitely made relaxing by the pool or beach less enjoyable. One big positive was that we didn’t get any hassle from people trying to sell us things, which was bliss. The hotel itself is boutique, stylish and has amazing views — very Instagram-worthy. Of course, that does mean there are plenty of people trying to capture the viral photo at every opportunity. Keep trying, toots — you’ll get there one day! Some staff members were brilliant: friendly, professional and full of banter. Others, however, felt a little intimidating — like dealing with Miss Trunchbull. At times it felt as though you were being watched for breaking rules, even something as minor as putting your feet on a chair! My biggest issue was checkout. We had to leave our room by 11am, and when I asked the day before about a later checkout, I was told no. The person on the phone was quite rude about it too. We had breakfast booked at Brunch & Co at 10am, which made the timing awkward, although this was eventually agreed after some discussion. As our transfer wasn’t until 5pm, we were given a lunch ticket for the buffet. It felt a bit awkward having to present a ticket to eat, then being asked to pay for a soft drink with lunch. My main question is: why not keep the all-inclusive package active until departure? We arrived at 11:45pm and didn’t get to use the facilities that first day, despite paying for it. It would make guests feel far more welcome if the hotel either extended all-inclusive until departure or offered a reasonably priced option to continue it until transfer time. Overall, Enorme Santanna is a beautiful hotel with amazing views, lovely rooms, great food options and unforgettable sunsets. It is best suited to people looking for a quiet, aesthetic getaway — but there are definitely areas where the service, communication and all-inclusive experience could be improved. 3.5 stars for this wee belter !!! 🌟 🌟🌟a few wee tweeks and could be a good one !!
