Numo Ierapetra Beach Resort

On arrival, we were greeted by the concierge who was very friendly and took care of our bags, delivering them straight to our room. The reception team checked us in promptly and sat us down to relax with a drink while they dealt with our key cards, then came to give us a map and all information about meal times. We were then escorted to our room, where our bags were already waiting. Special mention to David working at the hotel entrance who was really friendly and helped store our bags after check out and chatted to us while we waited for our taxi. The room we stayed in was a King Evergreen 1 Bed Suite with Pool. The room was amazing and cleaned to a satisfactory standard. I did notice cobwebs underneath the storage cabinets and some marks on walls where flies had been squashed but these aren't things I would be overly bothered about. The room had 2 TVs, large bed, sofa area with desk leading onto the patio and pool. The shower room was large, toilet was clean, the sinks area outside the toilet was also clean. Our private pool was supposedly maintained daily although we didn't see anyone come to check. There are horizontal wooden slat fencing between our pool and the room next doors which didn't provide much privacy. The buffet breakfast was standard and as exoected. We visited the same restaurant each night for the buffet evening meal. It was busy between 1930-2030 so we tended to go around 2030 when it was quieter. I have a severe nut allergy so was slightly concerned when no allergens were listed on the cards next to each buffet item, however after asking the chef, they were more than happy to help and the same chef (sorry I didn't get his name) took me around every night and told me what was safe to eat, what may contain traces, and what did have nuts in. This put me at ease and gave me a bit more confidence. I will say that there isn't a substantial selection during the evening meal, I have stayed in other hotels with a lot more options but Numo does seem to be using all of the space they can. It should be noted that a bottle of water for the table in the restaurant is €4, so I would recommend visiting the shop next door to the hotel as they sell a large bottle for €0.80! We ate lunch each day at the pool bar, there is not an expansive menu and it is quite pricey but the burgers were tasty and had big portions. Some days the service was slow even when there weren't many people sat there. The pool area was great and had a good selection of loungers. The beach area was where we spent most time and never struggled to find a lounger. The becah is very clean and has crystal clear waters. The location is about 1.5 hours drive from Heraklion airport. The town is also about a 10 minute taxi ride away costing €10 each way. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back in the future. All of the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would just improve by deep cleaning rooms every now and then, offering allergen cards at the buffets, and improving the privacy for the private pools.

Superficially attractive hotel with a decent welcome and a nice room in our case. However this hotel is nowhere near the 5 star rating it claims to be. Firstly there is only one restaurant which offers a buffet only service with no a la carte option. The buffet self service at breakfast starts with with not seating the guests or asking us if we would like tea or coffee. A first for a so called 5 star hotel! The cappuccino coffee option offered in the vending style machine was dreadful and undrinkable. The breakfast food offering was ok but all too frequently cold. As for the evening meal the (buffet only, no a la carte!) dinner at 35 euros per head was very poor. We had dinner on the first night but went to superior local/cheaper independent restaurants for the other 6 nights. We had thought that the coffee pods on offer in our room were free but got a nasty little surprise on checking out when we saw they had charged an exorbitant €1.50 per pod - Daylight robbery! The two swimming pools in the hotel are good but the bar service is slow and patchy with inordinate waits for drinks and food at times. Must do much better to be regarded as 5 star.

WONDERFUL! The resort is all about true luxury. Beautiful grounds, nice pools, clean beach, excellent food and amazing staff. We felt treated like royalties, with a gift - a bottle of nice greek wine. Special thanks to Alina who gave a very nice tour and made it feel like a 5-star visit.

This is my second trip to Numo Ierapetra and yet again it’s been magnificent. I stayed here with my partner last October and decided to revisit, this time solo. I felt comfortable, safe and happy. I chose an Evergreen Deluxe King Room with Terrace on a Half Board basis. The room was spacious with a huge double sink area, impressive rainfall shower, giant sized bed and a wonderful terrace with lots of seating and a lounger. The vibe at Numo Ierapetra is hard to describe. From the music around the pool, the service, the food, the drinks menu, the decor, the beach….it’s all spot on and they’ve got it just right in my opinion. I didn’t sit at the outdoor cinema this time, but it’s a wonderful concept with a good mix of movie options over the week. The gym was a little sparse and the spin bike had seen better days, but there was enough kit for me to do a short strength session and some cardio. My favourite rosé wine was by the bottle only (there were other by-the-glass options, but I’m a fussy rosé drinker!) but if there had been a by-the-glass option, I’m certain I’d have drunk more! 😉 I came away on my own to relax and recuperate after a busy start to the year. Yet again Numo Ierapetra has delivered an incredible experience, allowing me to do just that. I’m already planning another trip here in October with my partner…why keep searching for a resort that ticks all boxes when you’ve found it?!

Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff, very quiet. Nice resort layout. I especially liked the 2 big pools, one of which is a quiet pool with no music playing. I am rating 4 of 5 because the food options were a little limited in my opinion and the à la carte restaurant was closed in the week I was there but sadly there was no prior communication about this, neither from the travel company I had booked with, nor at the reception during checkin - I only found out the next evening when I wanted to make a dinner reservation for the night. This left 2 options for dinner: the buffet restaurant (which isn't for me, personally) or room service, which only had 3 (I believe) main choices. There was a quite good selection on the (pool)bar menu in the afternoon (I tried the Poké bowl which was tasty !) but this menu was only available during the afternoon until 16:30. I am wondering why the same food couldn't be an option on the room service menu ...? The bar staff explained I had to order in my room from room service menu but couldn't get the same food at the bar. (Again, very friendly explanation from the staff, but seemed a little illogical to me.) I happened to have a rental car anyway so I went out for dinner and lunch (no food between end of breakfast and beginning of pool menu at 13:00 either) which was a little downer as I had originally planned to just hang out on hotel property for my stay. Also, this was lost revenue for the hotel ;) They have an outdoor cinema where they show movies every night, so if you go to bed early, get a room that isn't facing that area of the resort. So overall, very nice hotel, but knowing the food situation make sure to do some research on what restaurant options there are nearby; having a car helps, since this resort is quite remote.
