Unfortunately, we did not feel it here. The front of house is consistently unwelcoming. It’s almost as if they’re doing you a favor by serving you and allowing you to stay at their hotel. Hotel is situated an hour west from Heraklion. Convenient for exploring central and western parts of the island. Massive advantage for the hotel - as it is close to the main road and the beach. In addition, it’s a member of Hilton Curio collection. So high standards of quality are expected. As we’ve arrived quite late we decided to order room service. The suggestion from reception was to use the mobile app. We placed the order and proceeded to wait. After an hour - nothing. At 1.20 since the order we tried calling room services and were greeted with “the number you have dialed is not in service”. As we’ve finally managed to get through via reception, we were informed that the kitchen never received our order and they’re happy to put it together for us in the next 40 min. We politely refused. We’ve tried lunch by the pool the following day. However it didn’t seem to work. For whatever reason the staff was too pre-occupied chatting amongst themselves rather than acknowledging us and letting us know there will be no lunch. Potentially suggest a few alternatives. Staff chats seem to be recurring theme. During breakfast they’re busy mingling and take a while to come with the drinks. Something that showed signs of improvement towards the end of our stay. We’ve also noticed catering manager arriving every morning promptly at 8:00. He would start the check and instruct the team to provide adjustments quite publicly. Holding the breakfast to high standard is exceptional and seems to be enjoyed by the guests of the resort. Giving your staff the scolding in front of the guests and rest of their team - not so much. The Layout There is no fast way of getting around the hotel. One mountain elevator is the only means of getting up to your room level. Otherwise you have to take the detour. And it does break. Happened twice during our stay. You can also end up stuck waiting for it to arrive. In case some guests decide to finish their post dinner chat in it as the elevator also acts as the bridge between two parts of the hotel on each level. All while other guests are waiting at the bottom. The Spa The spa facilities and the team do make up. We ended up getting a fantastic treatment from the them. The good news is - I don’t think you have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy it. Overall The hotel does show signs of wear and tear. The team feels really bothered to be there. The whole experience made us feel un-welcomed. The position of the hotel, back of house team and the spa facilities were the highlights of our stay. We made sure to only have the breakfast while there. Neighboring Rethymno or Panormos provide fantastic dining alternatives. If you are considering the hotel for the location or the spa, it’s good. Unfortunately if you’re looking for somewhere to lounge and not leave the premises - I’d suggest you consider elsewhere.

Vše podstatné podle Hilton standardů v tomto hotelu funguje, přestože byl otevrěn na začátku června. Důvodem je propojení se sousedním hotelem, neb mají stejného majitele. Personál je maximálně vstřícný a dělá maximum možného. Za stavební nedodělky a problémy z toho vznikající nemůže. Pokud se je podaří odstranit během zimy určitě přinese zvýšení komfortu především u delších pobytů. Při prodlouženém víkendu vám nevadí, že vnitřní bazén je bez vody, chybí odtokový žlábek ve sprše, která nemá správný sklon pro odtok vody, pokud byste však zde měli trávit týden a zaplatit přes 1000 euro za osobu, už si položíme otázku, udá cena odpovídá kvalitě ubytování. Zatím ne. Druhá sezóna též rozhodne, zda invaze hostů z druhého resortu ( poznáte je podle modrých osušek) ke dvěma 75 m dlouhým bazénům se slanou vodou bude tak intenzivní, že budete mít problém si najít lehátka u bazénů. Další nevýhodou je vzdálenost k moři. Musí vás tam vozit, neb je až za rušnou silnicí a je to pláž toho druhého sice kvalitního ale horšího rezortu. Další věc, kterou na žádných fotografiích neuvidíte je dým a vůně jehněčí z hotelové restaurace a la carte, která se specializuje na grilovaná jídla. Aby vše bylo na večer připravené začínají grilovat brzy odpoledne. Fouká- li větřík od moře kouř je všudypřítomné neb kuchyně je v nejnižší části rezortu a pokoje nad ní. Intenzita kouře jedno odpoledne byla tak vysoká, že jsme nemohli mít otevřené dveře na terasu. Hotel nemá vlastní auta na transport na letiště, díky tomu se vám může stát jako nám, že recepční nezavolá na domluvený termín taxi službu. K vybavení pokojů, měli jsme family suite o velikosti 40 m2. Pro dvě dospělé osoby vyhovující pro rodinu s dvěmi dětmi i díky nepraktické dispozici pokoje velmi omezující. Je vidět, že došlo ke změně projektu, pokoje mohly být o 15 metrů větší a nemít tak umyvadla za postelí. Příští rok se sem vrátíme je to ideálním hotel na prodloužený víkend, pokud pobyt platíte Hilton Honors a jste Gold nebo Diamant member se zajištěným upgradem. Jinak ne.

We stayed here for one week in May as a family of 3 and had a wonderful break. We booked a package holiday and from the moment we arrived at the hotel the customer service was excellent. Unfortunately our room wasn’t immediately ready but the communication was good. The hotel is beautiful and well designed to make the most of the sea views. It is slightly more remote than we expected so you do need to hire a car or use taxis to find anywhere to eat etc away from the resort itself. The room was clean, well maintained and spacious. Housekeeping is brilliant with daily room cleaning and complimentary water bottles refreshed also. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was great. The rooms are very quiet as well with minimal noise from other rooms. The staff are very friendly and we loved that there was no mad dash for sunbeds - nobody was laying out towels at the crack of dawn and there were enough around, the sun loungers are extremely comfortable too! The top main pool is heated and lower main pool isn’t so was very chilly, but our 4 year old lived both. There is a children’s pool which we didn’t use as the water was too cold, plus the water park is adults only so sadly our son couldn’t go on this. The table service for drinks and food around the pool and bars was excellent. The restaurants and bars are expensive which isn’t surprising given where you’re staying, so we did find it good value staying half board. The food is superb with a fantastic selection available without being overwhelming. We’ve stayed in many places over the years and this was definitely one of the best. The nearby towns are beautiful, we went to Panormo which is only 5 minutes by car. It has a small selection of shops and some lovely restaurants. There are larger towns around 25minutes by car. The beach is a short drive and the hotel provides a shuttle minibus every 30 minutes or so to and from the beach. The beach is very clean with comfy sun loungers, all with umbrellas and excellent table service for drinks and food - great for kids! The only negatives for us was the location and a few teething issues with the room; one example was our safe wasn’t working, and regarding the location you can’t venture offsite on foot to explore far, plus the beach is via minibus. Overall though a great family friendly luxury hotel.
