My boyfriend and I enjoyed an absolutely excellent week at Aphrodite in mid August 2024! This small hotel is located at the end of the fairly busy main road, some 100 meters from the road, making it very accessible, but at the same time away from the bustle of the town centre, and far enough away from the main road so that you don't get woken up by traffic. Our room (1 bedroom apartment) was spacious, really clean, had an ground terrace (all rooms have balcony OR ground terrace) small kitchenette, comfortable beds and a nice bathrom. Room was cleaned every day, litter was taken out, sheets were changed once during our stay, and towels were changed almost too often! I missed a Scandinvian type coffee maker, and one was provided for me straight away, thanks guys! The hotel area is really cosy, green, well kept lawn and gardens, kept clean and free of litter at all times, there's plenty of space in the lounge/breakfast area to sit down and relax, there's a garden at the back where you can chill in seating groups or lay in a hammock. I spotted the hotel's litter bin/waste area at the back of the hotel, and even this area was kept neat, clean and tidy! I've worked in the hotel industry for years, so I was amazed at this tidyness. The staff at Aphrodite are all extremely friendly and helpful. They made us feel absolutely welcome and at home. The fact that the hotel is kinda small, you see the same people every day, and end up having nice interactions with staff and other guests. The pool bar has a sufficient selection of food and drink, the bartender is the friendliest and most helpful guy. We only had breakfast once as we're not big breakfast people, but the breakfast was nice and plentiful. Aphrodite has a nice pool area, with a separate kids pool, but we mainly went to the hotel beach for swimming. The beach is approximately 150 metres from the hotel, sunbeds are free as long as you make a small purchase from the hotel pool bar (they bring to the beach). The beach is a blend of sand and pebbles, and the water gets deep quite fast. The sea was quite chilly at this time, which I loved, as it gave me a proper cool down from the heat. The beach is spacious, clean (they cleaned sunbeds every morning and took trash away), lovely and has plenty of shade from parasols and trees. The town of Votsalakia is quite nice, has a good mixture of tourists and locals, there are even some private houses along the beach, so not a nightmare of massive hotel complexes or overcrowded beaches. The town has a good selection of restaurants that mainly serve greek/mediterrenean food, and we only had good food experiences during our stay. The main road is quite busy with traffic at all times, we like it quiet and chose to walk through the more resiential back roads of the town. There's plenty of car hire available in Votsalakia. The beautiful nature of Samos and Votsalakia is totally under communicated in most tourist/booking info that you find online. We spent hours hiking in the nearby hills, to Pythagoras cave and to the village of Marathoukampos. The mountain Kerkis at around 1400 metres above sea level kept tempting us, but unfortunately we felt it was too dangerous at this time because of the heat. If you like to move around - do bring your hiking boots! Thank you, Samos and staff at Aphrodite, for giving me this vitamin shot so that I can survive the Scandinavian winter! Hope to see you again :)
Strávili jsme 5 nocí v hotelu Aphrodite a my jsme to milovali.
Small but perfectly formed. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble. Our room was very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay, with daily cleaning and regular linen changes. The whole hotel and grounds were beautifully kept and immaculate everywhere you looked. Breakfast was another highlight, always fresh, tasty Greek food every morning, with lots of choice and plenty to enjoy. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, but a special thank you to Vicki, Joanna, and Alex, who were always smiling and couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was wonderful every day. Thank you. Kathryn and John
A very pleasant stay here for a week. Lovely and friendly staff and especially Vicky who helped with travel arrangements. Very close to a quiet beach with sunbeds. Perfectly adequate breakfast sitting under olive trees with good selections. Suggest hiring a car as not much else to see in the area and taxis were non existent. However would be happy to return. Thank you all for a memorable stay.
We stayed here at the aphrodite samos suite for our vacation in Samos and had a great time. The staff of the whole facility was very kind to us from the moment we arrived and they did not let us lack anything. The room is very cozy with all the necessary comforts and even air conditioning. Abundant buffet with varied choices and a very good bar where they make great cocktails. The beach is right outside the facility very nice and quiet. A greeting to all the girls of the staff and I also want to say goodbye to the barman Gianni for his kindness and sympathy (I apologize for not saying goodbye to him before departure) Thank you for everything!!!
