Hotel Virginia

We had a great time at this hotel. It was off the main area and was worth the walk up the hill!! I had a couple of questions that I needed answered before booking and Fonti & Kalimera came through quickly so I could book with confidence. Pros: 1. The design and decor were great. 2. Any of the staff were easy to talk to (us speaking Canadian 😀) and really helpful. 3. The included breakfast was way more than what we expected. Large variety of hot/cold foods. No pictures included since I was too busy eating..😇 4. Quiet location and tons of water pressure. Cons 1. The pool area has a minimal area (2 chairs) for shade cover. The tile and loungers get ridiculously hot. 🥵 In my opinion, a sun shade or some type of umbrella would be beneficial. 2. The towels provided in the room are not meant to be used for the pool. We didn’t see any additional pool towels anywhere. If you’re traveling, it feels like it is uncommon to need to bring around an additional pool towel.

This is an absolutely super hotel, really (really!) well run by the the exceptionally friendly and helpful Fontini and her team. It’s just a bit uphill from the sea front at Samos/Vathi – say a leisurely eight minutes’ walk down to the sea and the main square, and perhaps twelve minutes on the way back up. The building is stylish and well-appointed. A small lift gets you as far as floor three, with the top floor a further staircase up. The place is kept impeccably clean – communal areas and rooms (with daily room servicing). A highlight is the roof pool area accessed from the third floor – with a small but perfectly useable pool (good for a few strokes per length, and, of course, cooling refreshment), sun beds, a shower and an outstanding view over the town and bay. The ground floor houses reception (from which you will always receive a friendly greeting whenever you pass), the breakfast area (breakfasts looked super, but I didn’t indulge), and a bar and terrace. I was welcomed ahead of my formal check-in time and allowed to leave my bags behind reception and use the pool; likewise after check-out on the day of departure. When I visit Samos again (and I sincerely hope I will), The Virginia Hotel will be my first choice.

Our room was on the sea side with a view of the sea in the far distance. The room was simple and clean with a good comfortable double bed with plenty of pillows, a table and chair, bathroom with shower, small fridge , balcony with a table and 2 chairs and a good working air conditioner. We had a rental car and could park it very near the hotel for free. The hotel is located in a neighborhood between the local Samos residents. We enjoy that. walking distance to the old town and the harbor with plenty of restaurants and shops. The friendly service and Greek hospitality is what makes this hotel special.

Recommend to everyone. Great rooms, very clean and with an air of freshness. The stuff is excellent in their job and very helpful. Helped us with things outside their jurisdiction. The location is ideal for quiet and calm staying within a walking distance to the city center.

Very nice and welcoming staff at the hotel, always looking after you and wanting to make guests as happy as possible. Tortoises in the yard were always making me smile! <3 Breakfast was tasty every single morning, fresh fruits, tomatos and eggs, greek sausages, homemade bougatsa was my absolute favourite! Room was nice and tidy, great view from the balcony. Not too far from town square. Great view from the pool! Loved every minute of our stay <3
