I recently stayed at Laila in Seychelles for five nights, and I can confidently say the experience was exceptional—largely thanks to the incredible team, especially Samira. I arrived on an early morning flight with Emirates, landing around 6:30 AM, and reached the hotel by 8–9 AM. After a long journey and a bit of rainy weather, I was quite tired—but from the moment I stepped into reception, Samira completely turned my day around. She was the only one at the desk at that time, yet handled everything seamlessly. She arranged an early check-in, kept me updated every few minutes, and made me feel genuinely cared for—not just processed as another guest. That level of attentiveness is rare. I was welcomed with a drink (thank you to Ronnie as well), upgraded to a beautiful room, and immediately felt at ease. What truly stood out was that Samira didn’t just provide good service on day one—she maintained that same energy throughout my entire stay. Over the next five days, she consistently went above and beyond with recommendations, guidance, and genuine warmth. From places to visit to local insights, she made sure I experienced the best of Seychelles. Coming from the service industry myself, I can recognize when someone is truly dedicated to their role—and Samira absolutely is. She is professional, attentive, and deeply invested in guest experience. It’s clear she takes pride in her work, and it shows in every interaction. Marriott Bonvoy is very lucky to have her. She is exactly the kind of person who elevates a brand. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her promoted soon—she truly deserves it. She made my stay warm, seamless, and memorable. I will absolutely be returning, and I genuinely look forward to seeing her again.

We recently stayed at Laïla, a Marriott hotel in Seychelles, for one night. The property itself is beautiful, and we chose it because it’s part of the Marriott brand, which we typically love and trust. The welcome experience was a nice touch, with a refreshing drink and towel upon arrival, and the staff overall were friendly. However, after a long 25 hours of travel, the room introduction felt excessive. The bellhop went through every single detail in the room even pointing out things like the hair dryer and coffee that were already clearly visible which was a bit overwhelming and frustrating given how exhausted we were. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the room itself. It had a very strong musty odor, to the point where it felt like we were breathing in mold. While the room was visually nice, the smell made it uncomfortable to relax. On a positive note, breakfast the next morning was excellent clean, well presented, and staffed by very friendly employees. Checkout was also smooth, and we appreciated that the staff arranged our taxi to the airport, which made departure easy. Overall, while the hotel has some nice features, the musty room and overall experience mean we wouldn’t choose to stay here again or recommend it. We were ultimately glad it was just a one-night stay.

Great rooms, attractive public areas and across the road from nice beach with associated restaurant. Very nice staff. Two small caveats, are the building design can mean evening music performances can be heard in room and pool noise from children can be disturbing.
