Cap Negret Hotel

Perfect stay, everything is clean, efficient and well run. Particularly liked: 1. No reserving sunbeds longer than 20 minutes. This meant there was always a lounger available any time of the day. 2. Excellent breakfast always quickly replenished 3. Clean rooms attended to early so that you can get on with your day 4. Helpful friendly staff 5. Excellent pool area and views with beach access (people beach take water shoes or buy at local supermarket). 6. Great location. For fit and healthy among us you can walk the coat in both directions. Albir is beautiful. 7. Easy access to the tram line. 8. Fair bar prices for a slick well presented hotel. No complaints to be honest and certain we will return. I hope this family run hotel never sells out to the big chains as they have perfected it.

This was our second trip to the Cap Negret and was a holiday to celebrate the 60th birthday for my wife, we visited last year for my own 60th so needless to say we really enjoy this Hotel. Booking in, the reception staff were professional, the room for us was very good, we were on the fifth floor looking out towards Altea Church, the hills and the sea towards Albir. Breakfast was excellent with good selection of breakfast items, for me the porridge with honey was a good choice and my wife enjoyed the omelette, toasts and the pancakes. The pool area is fabulous, the pool is nice and cold and the view out to sea is wonderful, either through the day or at night time, enjoying the odd vino, beer or two! The Staff were better this year, especially at the pool, all bar staff as well as the entertainment team. The entertainment acts were again good. The one downside for us this year were the pool beds, as some were grubby and really needed a good scrub. The gardens are still well maintained. The hotel is about 15 minute walk into Altea centre ( transport is provided by the hotel) but we enjoy the walk. All said another fantastic stay we hope to return next year.

I was quite disappointed on the waiting side of things, very difficult to deal with no helpful at all was getting told different things and all wrong, I asked for a class of ice and they wanted to charge me for ice, very over priced for what it was, we had booked a room with sea view when we arrived it was a room looking at a car park, I had to pay a extra 25 euros a day to stay in a sea view room which we had all ready booked, big shame as it is a beautiful place but find the service bad in restaurant and bar, the people on reception where helpful..

I can not understand the negative reviews. I really think some people should stay at home. We have travelled a lot and stayed at many establishments, we found this hotel to be very comfortable, with good service and plenty of choice for breakfast. We were on bed and breakfast basis and found the offering to be plentiful and good. There was a lovely quiet area to sit and read, plenty of sun loungers and plenty of tables and chairs to eat and drink outside. The pool bar was always busy, but we didn't mind waiting as we were on holiday. I must say that the beds were the most comfortable beds I've slept on, I am a poor sleeper bur had no trouble sleeping here. It is a bit of a walk to a supermarket but we didn't mind walking. We walked into Altea most evenings and had some amazing meals in The Old Town. The shuttle bus is really good. Just pop your name down on the list where there are time slots, and the driver will collect you on a return journey. We also ate in the Italian restaurant across the road and had a very good meal there. We caught the tram to Benidorm and also another day we went to Denia. Travelling around Spain is very easy and cheap. The tram stop is a few minutes walk across the road from the hotel and you can buy tickets on the tram. I would recommend eating in The Old Town rather than on the seafront. We would definitely return to this hotel and to Altea.

Perfect hotel, lovely staff, great fun, wonderful food - really couldn't fault it. The shuttle bus into town was a nice touch and the spa experience was great too. Such a lovely team of people work at this hotel - congratulations to the management who have created something really special.
