Cap Negret Hotel

A repeat visit to, what is becoming our favourite holtel. Good clean accommodation. Comfortable common areas. Good location; easy pleasant walk into town. Extremely friendly stall. AND great food in terms of quality and choice. 10/10

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel , booked through TUI. It was definitely not up to the standard we would expect from TUI hotels as it was geared completely towards large groups of cyclists who completely dominated the communal areas, clomped about the hotel in full biking gear including studded shoes and helmets, and even took bikes up to their rooms via the lifts. Even the decor was aimed at the cycling market with artwork representing cyclists. It should be made clear that this is a cycling hotel and it's not a good choice for couples when it is the cycling season. The worst experience was at dinner when the restaurant was completely taken over by large noisy groups, who jostled at the food counters and stripped the buffet. It was not easy to locate tables suitable for couples and the noise level was through the roof. Some of the staff appeared stressed dealing with this extremely busy environment. The choice of food was also limited. On a positive note the rooms were kept clean but we would not return to this hotel even though we liked Altea and other couples we spoke to said the same.

We have just arrived home from a ten day stay at this lovely hotel. We had a very nice room overlooking the town with a side sea view. The room was kept immaculately clean during our stay. Our view also took in the car park, and we were delighted that our stay coincided with that of a classic car group, featuring original Minis, approx 50 in total! In the hotel also were many, many international cycling groups. Now I had seen in previous TA reviews that clients had advised the hotel to section off an area for “couples”. Sadly this advice was not taken and each night we had to try and find a quieter table which honestly was impossible. Tables for the cycling groups are laid out in rows and mostly 14 to 20 at each table. The majority of the clients are young, enthusiastic and very hungry. Getting your food at the buffet was very difficult with much jostling for dishes. In fact at the hot plate many items simply disappeared before your eyes! I realise that to the cycling teams we must have just been an inconvenience but it is not the British way to push ahead, which was to our detriment. Food quality was generally very good. However the ambience was not of a restaurant but a canteen. The other problem that we had was the lack of comfortable spaces to relax other than our room. When we went into the bar there were no seats available, and again it was full of groups celebrating their successes of the day which is understandable! But very noisy!! I understand that we were in the minority here, but TUI had not pointed any of this out on their website. I understand that this is a winter training hotel that in the summer must be gorgeous to visit, but it is not advisable for couples on a winter break.

I attended the beatriz beauty centre today in the Hotel Cap Negret Athea and had a fantastic experience. Great value for money. Thanks Irena for doing such a great job, delighted with my eyebrows, eyelashes and leg wax. Would highly recommend a visit. Siobhan.
