La Zambra

La Zambra is amazing... Everything is always perfect. Rooms are luxury and comfortable. Food is amazing . Lovely bar area and setting . I would highly recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed our stay, the staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating. We had great food and the ambience was relaxing and enjoyable. Great facilities. All round a fabulous experience.

My mum and I stayed at La Zambra this past weekend while attending a friend’s wedding in the Mijas area, and we had a lovely experience overall. The hotel is conveniently located around a 30‑minute taxi ride from the airport. On arrival, we were greeted in the bright, spacious reception. I speak both Spanish and English, while my mum speaks English only, and throughout our stay the staff seamlessly switched between the two languages to accommodate us both, which we appreciated. All members of staff we encountered across the hotel were clearly very well trained - polite, friendly, accommodating, and the perfect balance of professional and chatty. They made us feel like nothing was too much trouble, and that level of care really stood out. We stayed for two nights and had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was served in a beautifully decorated restaurant with plenty of space between tables (no cramped or claustrophobic feeling), comfortable seating, and a great selection of food on offer. Dinner at Palmito was excellent - the menu is fantastic, and as two picky eaters we found it very easy to choose meals we really enjoyed. The quality and flavour of the food were also great. One small example that really highlighted the outstanding service: while dining outside, my mum mentioned she was cold, and instead of bringing a blanket, a waiter wheeled over a fire heater and placed it next to our table. That sums up the level of care - we truly felt looked after at every turn. We also enjoyed lunch at Bamboleo, where the lunch menu is great. We had iced coffees while enjoying the view of the beautifully maintained grounds from very comfortable seating. Even the glassware was stunning - a lovely attention to detail. The hotel grounds themselves are immaculate, with gorgeous flowers and well‑kept lawns that add greatly to the overall atmosphere. Although we didn’t use the pool during our stay, it’s worth noting that food and drinks can be ordered directly to your sunbed, which is a great touch. The hotel interior is stylish, spacious, and very clean. One small downside is that the hallways and rooms have no carpets, and have high ceilings throughout, which makes the hotel a little echoey and noisy at night. My mum is a light sleeper and was woken a couple of times. Aside from adding more soft furnishings, there isn’t much that can be done, but it’s worth mentioning. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. Fantastic food options, exceptional and well‑trained staff, beautiful surroundings, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. We’d more than happily return.

In a superb golf environment near to picturesque Mijas this beautiful hotel makes guests feel really special. Our suite allow interconnection with our adult kids next door. Its understated elegance was underlined by its association with the late Princess of Wales who was famously a patron prior to her sad demise. The hotel has a by request cocktail in her honour which my wife enjoyed very much. Overall, a great experience which we will long remember and likely repeat.

management and most of personnel completely incompetent. we booked out the entire hotel. they did not deliver on most things they promised. food was absolutely terrible, except breakfast. truly the worst quality I have ever seen. Imagine a bad airline's economy class food. that's what they served there every day for lunch and dinner despite charging for 5 star hotel at 5 star prices.
