SO/ Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort Hotel

This is not a great hotel for families with children of mixed ages. The reason is the pool restrictions that mean U16’s can only use the children’s pool which is largely occupied but very young children having fun and playing games and making noise. All very reasonable but this is not where you want to hang out if you are 15 and especially not where I want to hang out with my 12 year old when the rest of my family are enjoying the beautiful adult pools. The solution is to change the pool rules to U12 or split the other pools so there is s smaller quiet area. The hotel has so many positive characteristics but this is a huge problem for families like ours and not common at other hotels.

For all attributes, location, atmosphere, room, value etc etc, simply impecable and superb... call it my second home in Sotogrande.

I’ve been training with Jesús for a few weeks now, and the experience has been absolutely outstanding. He is an exceptional personal trainer—knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in helping you achieve your goals. Every session is well planned, challenging, and enjoyable, and I’m already starting to see results. The gym itself is spotless, well maintained, and has a fantastic atmosphere. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes coming here a pleasure every time. I couldn’t recommend Jesús and this gym more highly. If you’re looking for a personal trainer who truly makes a difference, he’s the one.

We stayed at this hotel twice: the first time in June 2024 and the second in mid-July 2026. The hotel is beautiful, and we felt we got a good price compared to what one usually pays for a 5-star hotel in May 2024. The food was arguably the highlight of our experience; we chose the all-inclusive option for both stays. The weather was favorable on both occasions, with temperatures reaching 30°C or higher. CONS: It is not a cheap hotel, so one expects a certain level of exclusivity; however, this isn't the case, as non-guests can pay to spend the day using the pools, spa, and other facilities. This is particularly notable considering we paid 4,000 euros for six nights in mid-July 2026, plus another 177 euros in tips. I noticed some changes regarding toiletries during my second stay; for instance, while they used Grown Alchemist products during my first visit, they had generic products during the second. KIDS Something that really disappointed me was that at the family pool—which also houses the kids' club area—both guests and non-guests could purchase bottles of wine. On one occasion, I saw two women sharing a bottle of wine (obviously glass) right at the edge of the children's pool. In July 2026, the hotel was full of British "influencers" taking photos in the children's pool, which the hotel's community manager would then repost on the hotel's social media channels. BEST One thing I want to highlight is that all the hotel staff are exceptionally friendly and great with kids. The young women who work by the pool entertaining the children are amazing. The food is INCREDIBLE good, but also is what I expected paying €4,000 for six nights plus tips. Would I go back to the hotel? Honestly, I don't know yet.
