Alua Illa de Menorca

I have been going to this hotel every year for the past five years ...... I have sadly missed this year as I did not want to wait for hours in queues to get in / out of Menorca airport ......

Not the first time we have been here, but a very warm welcome on arrival. Hotel is set back from the sea front but a comfortable walk (down hill so an up hill walk back but not too steep). A beautiful area, clean and well looked after. Generally a quiet location with plenty of planned activities available to take part in, if you so wish. The rooms were clean,with a free room safe, a small fridge and a balcony with fabulous sea views. Rooms were cleaned daily to a good standard. Fabulous dining facilities, either the main dining room which was buffet style l fie breakfast, lunch abd dinner. Wine, bear and soft drinks were available for self service. Staff were very are attentive and cleared tables quickly and politely. Overall another great holiday, we will be back next year.

This was my second stay at this hotel. Had a great five day break. The hotel is very clean throughout and staff helpful and polite. We paid a little extra for a high floor sea view room which I really liked. There is some noise from the entertainment on this side of the hotel but it finishes by 23.00. The sea side room gets sun in the morning and shade afternoon. The non sea views will be a bit quieter and get sun in the afternoon. Our room was cleaned daily to a good standard. Food was excellent. Lots of grilled fish, prawns, chicken, mixed salads etc. One evening there was a great tapas spread and another night sardines, the food is definitely more Spanish than some hotels and a lot of guests are Spanish. Wine was good and self serving for AI. The pool bar has snacks burgers and sausages at lunchtime. No special kids stuff but always pasta in evening. S’Algar is very quiet with just a couple of small shops and no real bars or restaurants etc so if you are not planning to eat in hotel you should consider a car. The Bus stops near hotel to Mahon but is not that frequent and can be busy. Hotel has a mini bus to nearby ponta prima which is slightly busier but you need to book it a day or two before. There is a nice walk to Cala Alcufur which takes about 30-40 mins.Overall this is a really relaxing place for a quiet chill break- not for party people, a few towels out early but we always found a subbed at pool even late afternoon. Nice grass area with shade too. Pool open at the moment until 7pm. We will definitely be back.

Good - Potential to be great. Overall the hotel is in good order, modern, and most importantly clean. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Entertainment team are very friendly; Richi & Ray were both very good and are a credit to the team. The food can be slightly repetitive. However, we never struggled to find something that catered to our tastes. A more “picky” eater may struggle to find something every meal. Drinks, these are the let downs. Made from a set blender machine.. when the machine went down many bar staff could not make the cocktails. Disappointed that there is a 11pm cut off on all inclusive at the bar.. reason you pay for all inclusive is to not have to pay the supplementary fees.. Not a lot to do in the surrounding area, a trip into Mahon is worth it. The taxi costs roughly €20 each way. If you’re looking for a chilled, happy place to stay then this hotel is ideal.

My 5th visit to this hotel. Once more the staff are excellent always friendly and helpful by that I mean all the staff whatever their job is. The food and drinks as usual plenty to choose from. My only complaint is booked a room with a walk in shower and this was on the first floor over the entertainment room which I found to be extremely noisy. Would I go again, the answer is Yes
