Lago Resort Menorca - Suites de Lago

The location of the Suites del Lago is really lovely, it is decorated beautifully throughout, the marina is a really nice place for a stroll at any time of day and we ate and drank in some great places. Sadly, our holiday was considerably compromised by the room assigned to us by the hotel - No.69. This room is directly at the top of the open staircase from reception, right next to the lifts. All other rooms are down separate corridors, whether they are pool view or marina view. The room was notably small, awkwardly configured and lacked many of the features we would reasonably expect from accommodation of this standard. There was no meaningful seating area beyond a single chair by the door, no suitable space to do hair or makeup outside the bathroom, and the overall layout felt heavily constrained due to the unusual angled configuration of the room. Having been recommended to stay here by close friends and comparing our room to their video, Jet2 website, the resort's own website and chatting with other guests we met while there, this room is materially inferior to both our reasonable expectations of a 5* adults-only resort and to other rooms sold within the same “Double Room with Pool View” category. As the room is located directly above an open staircase leading from reception, there is persistent noise disturbance throughout both the day and night. This substantially affected our ability to relax and enjoy our holiday. We raised the issue about the noise with the hotel after the first night, as well as with with the Jet2 rep. Initially, we were informed that the hotel was fully occupied, although an alternative room was later offered. However, given that this was only a 5-night stay and our only holiday this year, we did not feel it was reasonable to lose valuable holiday time packing, relocating and unpacking again, particularly when we believe the original room allocation should have been appropriate from the outset. The balcony in this room is has no external covering like the other rooms either: we had one morning of rain and decided to have coffee and read on our balcony until the sun came out again. As our balcony was not properly covered and offered minimal shelter from the rain, the cushions on the balcony chairs were soaked and it was not possible to sit outside without getting wet. In addition to the above, there were also numerous small maintenance and presentation faults throughout the room which further detracted from the overall standard expected within a 5* resort environment. Although the hotel acknowledged our dissatisfaction by leaving a bottle of wine in the room as a goodwill gesture, this did not address the underlying issues or the impact the accommodation had on our enjoyment of the holiday. And from conversations with our friends and other reviews, a bottle of wine is something guests normally have in their room on arrival anyway. Ours did not. Although a few of us arrived at the same time, we did wonder why the receptionist had basically 'flung' our cases into the room when she showed us up there and didn't stop to explain anything or check we were happy. Now we know why. Cala'n Bosch is a lovely area, the hotel is nice in general but check which room you've been given.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The rooms were spacious and the staff were incredible. We had the half board option with tickets to use in a wide range of restaurants throughout the resort all excellent quality. Never a problem for sunbeds. Will definitely be back again 😎

Very fast and pleasant check-in on arrival. Our pool view room was lovely, kept very clean throughout our stay, and we appreciated the little treats left daily. Both my husband and I celebrated birthdays while we were there and the hotel kindly surprised us with wine, sweet treats, and even towel cakes in the room, which was a lovely touch. All of the staff we dealt with were very pleasant, especially the breakfast staff who were exceptional. Breakfast was fantastic with a great menu, plenty of fresh food choices, and staff regularly offering freshly made tea and coffee. The pool area was beautiful and we were really pleased to see that sunbeds could not be reserved. We never had any trouble finding a bed and mostly used the loungers in the pool, which were comfortable and easy to access. The pool itself was very cold, so we only used it on the hottest days. The location was excellent, close to the harbour with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby for the week we stayed. There was also a bus stop close by for trips to Ciutadella, which made for a lovely day out when the weather was cloudy. Personally, I wouldn’t spend extra on a pool room as they were in shade from around 11am and the pools themselves looked very small. The biggest positives for us were definitely the breakfast, the staff, and the pool beds. The only things I would mention are that the shower floor became very slippery when wet, so care is needed, and the pool steps were quite difficult to see when getting in and out — I tripped on them a few times. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this hotel.

We had the most wonderful experience at Suites Del Lago Eco Hotel & Thalasso Pool during our stay in Menorca. From the beautiful atmosphere and delicious breakfasts to the warm hospitality, everything exceeded our expectations. Every morning felt special because the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. A huge thank you to the amazing team — Genny, Rafa, Melany, Guiu, Martin, Rocio, Diego, Alex, Carlos, and Mate — for your kindness, professionalism, and incredible service. You all truly made our holiday unforgettable with your smiles, attention to detail, and positive energy. The breakfast was always fresh and delicious, the hotel was spotless and relaxing, and the overall experience was simply outstanding. It’s rare to find a place where the staff make you feel like family, but that’s exactly what happened here. Thank you so much for making us happy — mission accomplished! Just back from a fantastic week half board at Suites del Lago with Jet2. Drop off was at the bus stop outside the Lago Resort villas & bungalows, so a short walk to hotel reception. Very efficient check-in and as we arrived late, the hotel provided a light meal delivered to our room. Really nice room overlooking the harbour bridge and a nice touch were the pastries left in the room and free minibar (once used restocked items are charged, with exception of bottle of water, which is replenished each day). Very comfortable bed and great air con. Evening turndown of beds was accompanied by a 'treat' each night with tea/coffee making facilities. Best food we've ever had - great breakfast in FOC restaurant (though the toasted sourdough type bread was a bid hard to cut), but great selection and the most delicious creamy yoghurt I've ever tasted along with the fresh orange juice. Evening meals were great and definitely 5* - although it's the same a-la-carte menu each night, there were enough starters, mains and desserts not to repeat any course over the week. Every course was delicious, but ribeye and chips was fantastic as were the croquettes. Great friendly and efficient staff, with a special shout out to Raphael in the FOC restaurant who served us most evenings - very friendly guy with a bit of good banter! Pool area was great - the bali style beds had towelling covers which were replaced each day - never had this before! - and the strict "no reserve" policy meant there were beds available most times, though may be more demand later in the season. Didn't try the pools as they were not particularly warm in early May. As per other reviews, the swim up pools were not used much, so maybe not worth the extra cost? Great location on the harbour, with plenty of restaurants and shopping centre, and close to bus stop for easy travel to Cuitadella (which is well worth a visit). The whole Cala'n Bosch resort closes between October and May, so as we were there in early May a few of the restaurants hadn't yet opened, but not an issue as we were half board and didn't take advantage of the food passport which allows use of different restautants. Another nice touch was the keyring and small bottle of local 'pomada' liquor presented to us on check-out, which was 12noon. Luggage storage and shower facility available for those with later pickup times. Will definitely return and highly recommend.
