Playa Azul

Hotel poskytuje výborné stravování - měli jsme polopenzi, pokoje s výhledem na moře jsou úžasné. Denně uklizeno, čistý bazén. Po Menorce lze dobře cestovat autobusem, měli jsme také půjčené auto. Z důvodu krátkých vzdáleností lze Menorcu procestovat a užít si krásné výhledy a scenérie. Také výlet lodí se skleněným dnem je příjemným zpestřením. Ulice jsou čisté, domy svítivě bíle natřené s kontrastem zelených okenic v úzkých uličkách dokreslují kouzlo ostrova. Všude klid a pohoda.

Back now from a week in Bluesea Playa Azul. We were there last year and I have to say it's now better. There is still work to do but its a nice enjoyable hotel. Staff from reception to restaurant were all very friendly, especially the maid on 3rd floor. She was a lovely hard working girl. We had room 303 with a spectacular view and comfortable bed. Our keycard stopped working for some reason but Ana on reception quickly sorted things. The food is perfectly acceptable with lovely fresh salad or hot food if you wish. Rolls still warm at dinner was a first which we liked. We always found something delicious to eat. There seemed to be some problems beginning of May when first opening reading some reviews, but the staff have obviously worked very hard to sort things out and in our opinion have mostly succeeded. We will hopefully be back next year....

We’ve just returned from Playa Azul and have to say that we had an enjoyable time at the hotel. Firstly the refurbishment has no resemblance to the AI pictures from the website which I think led to a lot of bad reviews earlier in the month. The Hotel is nicely set out with a bright and fresh feel to it in the lobby and halls and rooms. We paid for a sea view and we certainly got one. The location is beautiful. Our room was clean and presentable every day with the bathroom having Hand soap and Shower gel dispensers. Also a fridge in the room which worked very well. The Pool and terrace are great with spectacular views. The bar serves very good beer for an All inclusive set up. You could purchase premium spirits and mixer for 6 euros and that came in a proper glass !! The restaurant was clean and the food was fair. Nothing special just ok. The things that could make it better in my opinion are water dispensers in the lobby as after 11 at night the bar area is closed Proper glasses at night would be better as they are available as I said earlier but only at a price. Big one for us is No English breakfast tea anywhere The tea in the restaurant is all herbal and the water in the coffee machine is not hot enough to infuse the bags. A kettle in the room with cups would be great. I witnessed a man trying to make up infant formula with the water machines and it looked much harder than it should be. Having said that we did have a great time. If your going here don’t worry about the earlier reviews as a lot of those issues have been resolved with upgrades turning up during our stay We would return.

The hotel hasn't changed its location so all's good in that respect. What has changed is the quality of the food and drinks, especially if you opt for all inclusive and the staff, they didn't seem to fussed about helping you. The quality and variety in the restaurant, especially lunch and evening were in my opinion below the standard I'd expect from a one star hotel, never mind three. We were their last year 2025 and the high overall rating the hotel was well deserved when it was under Seth ownership. Unfortunately our trip this year 2026 did not go so well. Staff just shrugged when asked anything but the simplest of queries. A glass of Sangria is according to them red wine and sprite or Fanta lemon. The food was that bad we ate out after trying it for two days. We opted to "upgrade" to a bungalow, please take our warning and don't. The patio door runners were square, not round, the shower one minute was cold, the next scalding, flush the loo and the sink tap stopped so you had to wait to wash your hands. I could go on, but I'll leave you to imagine how bad it could be, then let you know it was worse.

Was a bit worried as received an email 6 days before our stay from Jet2 to say that the upgrades that were advertised for 2026 had not been done. I was asked if I would like to stay and get £100 compensation, go to another hotel or cancel and receive a full refund. I did say that only 6 days notice with working a full time job, having to book annual leave and put dogs in kennels, being given only 6 days notice was not good enough. I stayed on the phone with Jet 2 for about an hour and they did offer a couple of alternative hotels but I decided we had booked this one due to the stunning location so would stick with it. I then looked at the most recent reviews and they were dreadful, so that put a bit of a downer on the countdown to the holiday. We arrived at the hotel the following Saturday and check in was pleasant and the room small but clean. Food ok-ish but they could do better. Not much of a selection of deserts (melon and cake). Pool is lovely apart from the unstable slabs which make a noise as soon as someone walks over them. The centre of the village is small but plenty of restaurants and bars if you fancy getting away from the hotel. Bus to the capital Mahon runs every hour from just up the road, well worth a visit. The outside of the bar area is not cleaned very often and there are cups/glasses that have been left for hours or even overnight. Needs a few tweaks but think they will get round to making it as is should have been and we would go back!
