Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Bakersfield North

Room is sparsely furnished. Not even a floor lamp for reading in a chair. Wall paper peaking in hall way, elevator out of order, black mold in sink stinking up the bathroom. No counter space in bath, no luggage stand nor anywhere to put a piece of luggage in the room except the floor, no ottoman for one chair in the room. A very stripped down hotel. More importantly, the in-hotel retails advertised as open for dinner on Sunday - it is not. It is advertised as open for breakfast at 6, it is not. Front desk says it opens at 6:30. It’s now 7 and the chairs are still stacked on tables. This hotel stinks.

Terrible experience! Nothing is as represented on their website. First, the dining room was not open because according to the staff person “there were not enough diners”. Second, the workout room had only one treadmill and when I started to use it it shot up to 10 miles an hour! I had to jump off. Very dangerous! Told the staff person and they were very nonchalant about it. I advised them to put an out of order sign on it so someone didn’t injure themselves. Thirdly, I went to take a shower and only scalding hot water came out! When I reported it they said their water system was broken and they were “working on it “. Overall I would not recommend this hotel unless you want to go home hungry, with a broken neck and scalded skin. STAY AWAY!!!!

We stayed overnight on a cross-country drive. The highlights were the universally friendly staff. The hotel is aging but overall in good shape. Our room was a 1BR on the 4th floor and was clean and quiet. The furniture is very dark, as is the room, but it's functional and the bed was comfortable. The shower did not have good water pressure. We appreciated the Keurig, microwave and mini-fridge in the room. The breakfast, a buffet for which they charge $22, was terrible. It was worse than the free breakfasts at Holiday Inn Expresses. The eggs/sausage/bacon was cold, the oatmeal was basically oats swimming in water, the breads/bagels/peanut butter were low quality, and they offered plastic plates and utensils. The gym is quite small and there were no towels, wipes or water. The stationary bike was not working, so we tried the pool which is large enough to swim (short) laps but freezing cold. So, we had a decent night's sleep but would probably look at a different option on our next trip.

Great Stay at this Holiday Inn! Staff was accommodating and friendly. Food for breakfast and dinner was great! I will stay here again!

Had a great experience at the Holiday Inn! Everything was clean and comfortable, but the highlight of my visit was the amazing service from our server Brianna. She was super friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt taken care of the entire time. You can really tell she cares about her guests. Thank you, Brianna! I’ll definitely be coming back.
