Petit Ermitage

I've had the pleasure of staying at Petit Ermitage several times now, and I am constantly drawn back to the hotel as it never ceases to amaze. The reception staff warmly welcomed me, as did the tastefully decorated lobby and hotel. Upon getting to the room, it was quite clean and a lovely stay. The bed was comfortable, the allure of a fireplace added to the atomosphere, and the bathroom was also clean. Don't get me started on the rooftop! It is GORGEOUS! I found myself taking calls by day on the roof, and sipping a cocktail by night by the pool. I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay at the Petit Ermitage.

My girlfriend and I stayed in a suite for two nights and the room was great. Between 6:00 and 7:00 am our first morning, the toilet kept us awake with very loud gurgling sounds. Around 9:00 am, my girlfriend sat on the toilet in the dark, without realizing that water and feces erupted onto the toilet seat and surrounding floor. We spoke with the general manager, Maria, who did not seem too concerned that my girlfriend sat in feces. Maria offered a food and beverage comp and was not willing to do anything more, insisting that since we booked the rooms on Expedia, this was all they could do. It’s hard to imagine a more disgusting hotel experience. We were very disappointed about the way in which the general manager treated this situation as if it was a minor inconvenience rather than a significant health hazard.

Stayed at Petit Hermitage with a few friends on a trip to LA. The vibe was incredible. Cool without trying too hard, has this eclectic, artsy feel. The rooftop was definitely the highlight. The pool area especially was a great place to spend an afternoon. Staff were friendly and low-key, not overly formal but always helpful.

Petit Ermitage was an absolutely lovely stay in LA. From extraordinarily kind and welcoming staff to wonderful amenities (fantastic water pressure in the showers!!!!) and a convenient location, this was my favorite hotel in LA that I've stayed in so far. The rooftop pool and bar is a wonderful addition, allowing for lots of rest in WeHo if Santa Monica is too far a journey. I found everything I needed at the Petit Ermitage and cannot wait to come back on my next trip to LA.

I’ve stayed here before and enjoyed it, which makes this experience even more disappointing. On this stay, there was intense bass noise from an undisclosed basement club that went on until nearly 4:30–5am, followed by loud hallway disturbances involving individuals who were later confirmed by security to not be hotel guests. Despite multiple calls, the issue was not handled in a timely or effective way, and I did not get meaningful sleep. The following day, I was told a room change would be arranged, but no update was provided well into the afternoon. When I contacted Expedia to explore options, a front desk staff member escalated the situation by repeatedly calling my room and then opening my door without permission to confront me over billing. There was no emergency, no notice, and the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational. Another staff member was brought to my doorway, which made the situation feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I ultimately left the hotel early because of how the situation was handled. While some nights were refunded, the staff conduct and lack of de-escalation were deeply unprofessional. The hotel may look charming online, but when issues arise, guest comfort and safety are clearly not the priority. I would not stay here again.
