We had a dayuse.com room booked for the end of our Spring Break cruise and Dayuse didn't inform us that all the rooms had been booked due to Miami open. So we arrived at the hotel ready to go to our room drop our luggage and relax until we were told that we did not have a room. This was upsetting to us but the lovely lady behind the desk was so kind and made a bad situation better. She held our luggage and gave us recommendations for a food spot close by. We used the pool until we had to catch our uber to the airport. All in all, the lady made a bad situation so much better. The lobby and pool that I could see were all clean, quiet, well stocked with towels and well maintained. It was a trendy very cool vibe. It was as good a spot as any to use as a resort for the day or a dayuse. Thank you and I'm sorry I didn't catch your name. ( I think it started with and A)

I am a wheelchair user and booked an accessible room with a roll-in shower, which I also confirmed by phone months before my stay. After 38 hours of travel from Perth, I arrived at Aloft Aventura only to be given an “accessible” room with a bathtub, which is unusable for many wheelchair users. Staff that evening promised the issue would be resolved the next day. It wasn’t. I spent the morning trying to fix the situation and was repeatedly told a roll-in shower room would be available later. I even had to clean myself with wet wipes because I couldn’t shower. When I returned that afternoon, the front desk employee was aggressive, rude and confrontational, raising his voice and blaming me for the booking. My support worker and my mother both witnessed the interaction. In the end, I was again given a bathtub room and could not shower during my stay. Major hotel chains like Marriott should train staff to treat guests with disabilities with empathy and respect.
