Quality Inn Florida City - Gateway to the Keys

A welcomed greeting once the door opened. Bertha was happy to see you and informed you of where pool, rest room, room location and reserved spot just outside you door. Times for breakfast, pool and hot tub times. A one stop info person with all the answers you can think up. Thanks

I've always enjoyed my stay at this hotel. For the rate and location of the hotel, it's a very clean hotel. The staff takes pride in the care of the place. They make sure food is available and readily stocked for the complimentary breakfast. The front office is knowledgeable of the area and kind to guests as they arrive. While located near a busy street the fact that there is a gas station in between the road and the hotel, the gas station serves as a buffer from the noise and traffic. The location is ideal if you want to explore the lower section of Everglades National Park. You are also twenty minutes away from Biscayne National Park. If you are one who does not want to stay in the Florida Keys, this is about as close as you can get and take day to drive that highway to Key West, have something to eat there, explore a little bit and then return back. With the tourism in this area of Florida, I've stayed elsewhere from time to time and what some might rank higher quality hotels but in all honesty for $100-150 less, this hotel had them beat. The staff, Maritza, was one of the front desk folks, makes sure you get some local coupons for the some of the nice restaurants located nearby. The pool area is very nice too. The location of this hotel being tucked behind the gas station and Denny's gives you a good sense of privacy.

After reading the reviews I thought this would be a good place to stop over on our way to the Keys. I was very wrong. This is a motel the doors face the parking lot not an interior hallway. The room smelled moldy and the furniture was old and stained. I was very concerned for my safety as the locks did not seem secure and we were on the ground floor. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

All good Hotel is good and clean. Good break fast, Break fast lady was very help full. Chace room near pool.

We decided to visit the Keys. First we started at Days Inn that was a dump. Stopped at Quality Inn on our way back. It was 100% better.
