Riu Sri Lanka

What an amazing country full of incredible people. With regards to this hotel, we as a family have nothing but praise for them. The first thing we noticed was the level of cleanliness. No stone had been left unturned. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean and the towel art was out of this world. We as a family enjoy sitting together and enjoy our evening meals. We therefore booked the al a carte restaurants nightly. We were most definitely not disappointed with the standard of food and indeed the care taken by the staff to prepare and deliver it to us. EVERY interaction with the serving staff was faultless, morning, noon and night. Marshall, Malinda and their team were incredible. One of our daughters has a peanut allergy. The chefs were highly attentive. They made a point of escorting her around the buffet food hall and explained everything to her. Throughout our 2 week stay they ensured she was looked after and made separate chicken skewers for her that had not been near to any satay sauce. All staff were highly attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our daughter had a chest infection and we had to call out the local Dr. He travelled from a local hospital. His communication skills were very good and the process of seeing him was seamless. We had to call him back a week later and again, it wasn’t a problem. The pool bar staff are the happiest people you will ever meet. Likewise the lifeguards are very attentive and friendly. We can’t use enough positive phrases to describe this hotel. We will return for sure. I would describe Sri Lanka and this hotel as the land of the happy people.

I have booked the normal room and this was for my honeymoon. But the staff members were nice enough to upgrade the room for free with a sea view since its our special day. Its the small details that matters. Thank you so much RIU staff members

I have been in many Riu Hotels around the world. This is tge best food from all Riu Hotels I know and I had the opportunity to thanks the chef.

Good staff , very clean and tidy easy to find place, Good landscaping , food very nice . Swim pool very nice and clean.

What can I say about this hotel? Absolutely amazing. The facilities the staff the food all exceptional. Always greeted with a smile from the cleaning staff to the restaurant staff. My wife and I are both vegan and the restaurant staff especially Chaminda went out of their way to ensure we had multiple options. We will return!
