Riu Sri Lanka

It was my 2nd visit to RIU as it’s my 1st choice for a great holiday. Rooms were spacious and immaculate as well the food spread was vast. I must specially mention that Keshan and his front office team made our stay unforgettable with full of surprises. Many thanks to the front office team. Our server at the restaurant Uvindu was very pleasant and energetic. He made our dining experience to its best. Even though it was busy he didn’t forget to smile. Loved the hospitality at RIU. Wishing all the team success. Can’t wait to return back to RIU

The stay was definitely worth it. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious, making the whole experience enjoyable.

We stayed for nine nights at the Riu. Overall, a very positive experience and the resort as a whole I would rate as 4 star. Rooms are reasonably well furnished and air-conditioning works well. The hotel general areas and restaurants are well decorated and everything is well kept and clean. Food and drink are of a high-quality although not all restaurants are open every night and you are advised to book early to get a table. The pool and outdoor areas are of good quality and well maintained. Plenty of pool loungers are available. The resort was busy at weekends with local visitors but quieter during the week. The quality and attitude of staff was exemplary and everyone was very helpful and attentive. All requests were attended to immediately. Recommended.

As a family with older teenagers we had two rooms and our request to have two rooms together was met. The reception team were very welcoming and dealt with us efficiently. The hotel is very well maintained and I can honestly say any interaction with any staff members was 100% positive. We stayed for 9 nights the buffet was vast and although busy it was always fresh and food was not left standing. We enjoyed the breakfasts at the buffet and in the evening over our stay visited both the three bookable restaurants and the buffet and enjoyed them all. The pool was clean and well looked after. The room was spacious and clean. Air con was great. We very much enjoyed our stay - we had toured the island prior to our stay and still enjoyed a boat safari and visiting local beaches. It is worth knowing the sea is not accessible to swim in as very rough (red flag) but in November to April is apparently much calmer. I did also visit the spa and found this a positive experience

The hotel was very clean, and the buffet had plenty of delicious options. The Italian buffet was our favorite. The pool and pool bar were excellent, though the bar closing at 6 felt a bit early. We had fun with the games and activities, which added to the experience. However, the night DJ was repetitive and didn’t take song requests, which made the evenings less enjoyable. Service was mixed: check-in was smooth and helpful, but check-out felt less attentive. Some front bar staff, especially one with spectacles, seemed reluctant to serve, which was disappointing. Overall, a nice stay with great food and cleanliness, but some areas need improvement.
