Sunstar Hotel Wengen

Loved our stay at the Braunbar! Buffet breakfast was very good and the pool/steam bath/sauna were such a lovely treat. Refillable water station in lobby was a nice bonus too. The heatwave made our stay a little unbearable. While they provided one tower fan in the loft bedroom, it wasn’t enough air movement. No air conditioning. We slept with the balcony door open but it was uncomfortable in the upstairs bedroom. Would suggest that they install a ceiling fan up there or guests bring rechargeable personal fans that can be found on Amazon for the warmer months. We would recommend staying at The Beaunbar but just be prepared if you’re not used to sleeping at 30*C. Village is quiet at night which makes it extra special and the train station is close with an amazing view! Watched the World Cup game at a nearby watch party which was so fun! Can’t wait to return to Wengen!

Adore this hotel! Very clean, well appointed rooms. We stayed in double and quad. We were lacking nothing for our stay to make it exceptional. The hotel is beautifully kept, graciously staffed, and our morning breakfast buffet was lovely. Wengen is a wonderful home base for Jungfrau region without as much tourist traffic. Lauterbrunnen was incredibly busy with cars, busses and groups and surprisingly Murren had heavy foot traffic too, making Wengen the perfect central location. Easy access to small shops, coop, restaurants, and train station. And the spa! Wow. We stayed in mid June and had perfect weather and the spa with huge heated indoor pool (killer views!), sauna, and steam rooms were amazing! Already planning a trip back. All love for Wengen hospitality and stunning scenery!

We had a very enjoyable stay at Braunbar Hotel & Spa. The hotel is exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained, with a warm and cozy atmosphere throughout. Every area—from the guest rooms and restaurant to the spa and common spaces—felt welcoming, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. In fact, we found the actual facilities and our room to be even better than the photos online, which was a pleasant surprise. One aspect that exceeded our expectations was how well the hotel accommodates families. The availability of connecting rooms and bunk bed options made our stay much more convenient and comfortable than we anticipated. The location is another major advantage. It is extremely convenient for train arrivals and departures, while also being centrally located within easy walking distance of the town’s main attractions, shops, restaurants, and amenities. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a great selection of fresh and varied options to suit different tastes. Overall, Braunbar Hotel & Spa offers a welcoming and comfortable stay, excellent family-friendly accommodations, and a fantastic location. We would happily stay here again.

We stayed for 4 nights in the 2 story duplex room. We loved this hotel, the book theming throughout, and the room was easily one of the coolest rooms we have ever stayed in. Super comfortable beds, great balcony with a gorgeous view, and they even had a fan in the loft as there is no a/c. The hotel had a great restaurant for dinner and we loved the cozy bar area as well that has a convenient kids playroom attached. The pool is very nice with reasonable hours for the kids and sauna and steam room for the adults. Very convenient location as well and kind staff. The only miss for us was breakfast which is included but was just okay. We found it to be lacking and inconsistent (hard boiled eggs were not cooking fully so were raw) etc. My son did enjoy the pancake machine on the breakfast buffet and the wait staff were very kind and accommodating. Overall would definitely stay again just may get breakfast elsewhere! Included photos which are the view from our balcony!

This place has it all—views, spa, great breakfast, friendly staff. The bar had live music a couple times while we were there but we were so tired we didn't partake. I took advantage of the spa daily and had a couple of treatments by Anna Mari which were incredibly relaxing. The property is an easy 5-min walk from the train station. The room itself is well appointed (Nespresso machine, hot teas & kettle, balcony with chairs), spacious, and had comfy beds with extra pillows. The front desk staff were so warm and helpful with any questions or needs we had. Breakfast was diverse and plentiful, with hot items like bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes; cold items like cheeses and deli meats; and a selection of yogurts, chia seed pudding, cereals, etc. We loved the espresso machines at breakfast and the self-serve water refill stations—I wish every hotel had this! Would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone traveling to Wengen area.
