This hotel is a true "industry disruptor"—a rare "unicorn" that is effectively redefining the luxury landscape. It has successfully married the high-end boutique feeling of a Porsh with the massive advantages of an all-inclusive model, offering a $4,000-a-night aesthetic (reminiscent of the Elite) This property is changing the industry by proving that "All-Inclusive" can coexist with "Ultra-Elite." The food quality, history, and natural beauty create an environment that feels like a private sanctuary rather than standard resort. To maintain its "Porsh" status, the hotel must protect its serenity. An elite environment is built on Quiet Luxury, not a 24-hour drinking culture. Transitioning from high-volume alcohol offers to refined, curated beverage experiences will prevent the "party" crowd from overshadowing the sophisticated setting. There is a mismatch in resource allocation. Adults are mobile and can enjoy the piers and deep-water decks, but for children, the sandy beach is a functional necessity for safety and play (building castles). The same applies to the soft sofas; restricting comfort to "Adults Only" is illogical for a family-inclusive elite brand. There is a toxic narrative currently circulating in Facebook groups and on social media, driven by a demographic of "kid-haters". Don’t believe them. These guests are trying to gatekeep this elite sanctuary to keep families away so they can enjoy it exclusively for themselves. While the hotel currently (and logically) enforces rules for hygiene—such as restricted pool access for non-potty-trained children—this is a standard of high-end cleanliness, not a ban on families. Pools should always be separated. This is one of the best hotels you will ever visit. It is unique, elite, and changing the industry. Do not fall for the "anti-family" warnings on social media. This is a world-class sanctuary that belongs to sophisticated travelers of all ages—not just the loud minority trying to claim it on Facebook.

Our honeymoon at Akra Didim was everything we hoped for and more. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness that it instantly made our stay feel special. We arrived late at night and were transported to our villa by one of the buggies, which immediately made us feel like Bond villains arriving at a secret island hideaway. We had booked one of the single villas for our honeymoon, so you can imagine our shock when we opened the door and realised we’d been upgraded to a duplex villa. An unbelievable surprise and such a thoughtful touch from the hotel. To top it off, the TV welcomed my wife by name with a personalised “Good Evening” message. Small detail, massive impact. Having a 24-hour bar was also an absolute lifesaver. We’d never stayed at a hotel quite like this before, so being able to dump our bags, grab drinks and have a late-night snack after travelling felt elite-level hospitality. The villa itself was stunning, but what really stood out was the design of the entire resort. You could tell an incredible amount of thought had gone into the architecture and layout. Every restaurant and relaxation area had its own personality and atmosphere, yet everything flowed together perfectly. It managed to feel luxurious and stylish without trying too hard — modern without becoming cold or soulless. And the bed… honestly, I’m still thinking about it. Sleeping on that thing felt like being gently hugged by a cloud. The next morning we pressed the button to open the blinds and were met with one of the most spectacular views we’ve ever seen. It was one of those moments where you just sit there in silence for a second thinking, “Yep… this is the life.” The restaurants were phenomenal throughout our stay. Every meal felt like something you’d expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant rather than an all-inclusive resort. The quality, presentation and flavours were consistently incredible. The only slight downside was that there wasn’t always availability to use the à la carte restaurants every night. However, as the hotel is still relatively new, we completely understood they were still fine-tuning things and training staff. And honestly, whenever anything did go slightly wrong — which was very rare — guest relations were fantastic. They genuinely cared about making sure guests had the best experience possible. We managed to try every à la carte restaurant apart from the seafood restaurant, and each one was excellent in its own way. The food, the atmosphere and especially the staff all made every meal memorable. Our personal favourite was Incir, the family restaurant near the family villas. The pasta there was dangerously good. We kept telling ourselves we’d try somewhere different for lunch and then somehow ended up back there again like it was calling us spiritually. Because we travelled in May, the hotel was fairly quiet, which for us actually felt like a bonus. It almost felt like we had our own private honeymoon resort. The downside, though, was that entertainment was a little limited in the evenings. We watched a rock band one night in the jazz bar and a singer another evening, both of which were great. The resident DJ was also good, but we did feel there could’ve been a few more events or activities in the evenings, especially as you could hear the neighbouring hotel across the bay sounding like Ibiza while we were sat peacefully sipping cocktails wondering if we should infiltrate it. The jazz bar itself was a really cool venue, although it was unbelievably hot in there at times. Air conditioning would make a huge difference because by the end of the night we were slowly melting into the furniture. That said, one of the best parts of the trip was meeting other couples staying at the resort. A special thank you to Paul, Zara, Caroline, Eliot, Diane and Keith for making our honeymoon even more memorable. Some of our favourite evenings were simply spent chatting, laughing and having drinks together. When we wanted a quieter evening, we spent a lot of time near Salkim, the à la carte restaurant by the adults-only villas. Just beyond the restaurant is an outdoor seating area overlooking the sea, and honestly, it became our favourite spot in the entire resort. A huge reason for that was the bartender, Hazar — whose nickname apparently means “fire” in English, which honestly suited him perfectly. Like all the staff, he was welcoming and friendly, but this guy genuinely went above and beyond. He made us cocktails that weren’t even on the menu and clearly had a real passion for mixology. Every drink felt crafted rather than just poured. He kept saying, “Don’t worry guys, it’s my job,” but you could tell it was far more than just a job to him. Honestly, give this man a raise… and give him fresh ingredients while you’re at it. You could see the creativity was there, but he was limited by some of the pre-mixed ingredients provided. With the right setup, he’d probably become one of the best bartenders in Turkey. When we weren’t by the sea, we spent time in the sports bar, which was another really cool area — although once again, it got very hot inside. The sports bar had pool tables, foosball, pinball, darts and bowling, which was brilliant. The only frustrating thing was the bowling shutting at 8pm because of “noise.” Respectfully… every other game in there sounded like a small arcade explosion anyway, so that reasoning didn’t fully convince us. It was also slightly annoying when other guests were allowed to play after 8pm but we were told no on two separate occasions. Still, the drinks selection was excellent, and as football fans we appreciated matches being shown — although hearing Turkish commentary over the United game while City got English commentary the next day felt like a personal attack. On the opposite side of the sports bar was the spa, and wow… genuinely one of the most relaxing spa experiences we’ve had. Every room offered something different, and it became the perfect escape when the weather wasn’t great earlier in the trip. The entire spa area felt calming, luxurious and beautifully designed. Overall, thank you to everyone at Akra Didim for making our honeymoon so special. The hotel is absolutely stunning, the staff are genuinely caring, and despite a few minor issues that naturally come with a newly opened resort, the experience was unforgettable. This hotel has all the ingredients to become one of the best luxury resorts in Turkey, and judging by our stay, it absolutely will. We left relaxed, happy, slightly heavier from all the pasta… and already talking about coming back.

We are currently lucky enough to be spending two weeks in an Adult Deluxe Priene House, and the experience has been incredible. The hotel is beautiful throughout; while the photos are lovely, they truly don’t do the design justice. Despite being open for only a short period, the resort is almost fully operational. There are a few minor elements still being finalised, but nothing that has impacted our stay in the slightest. The quality of the food and service is exceptional. Having stayed at various Ikos properties many times, we can confidently say this hotel is one to watch. While the wine selection is very limited compared to the Ikos range (but absolutely palatable) , almost every other category surpasses it in our eyes. The attention to detail is spot on, every piece of furniture, glassware, and even the cocktail finishes feel thoughtful and high-end. Our room has been the absolute showstopper. It feels like a private villa tucked away in its own "village." As travellers without children, we’ve found that the resort feels like an adults-only retreat within a larger, family complex. While there is clearly a fantastic family section with plenty to do, the adult-only areas are so vast that we often find ourselves staying within them all day. We really cannot find fault. If any tiny niggles have cropped up, the staff have been incredibly quick to address them. We are already looking into switching our September holiday so we can return here instead. This is easily five stars across the board and might just be our favourite spot in Europe so far. If you have a future booking here, you will not be disappointed.
