Special thanks to Chef Desi who makes unique and creative desserts and ice creams from 100% natural ingredients (I had the privilege to taste the best sugar free mango and pistachio ice cream !), Haji who will provide you with a five star Butler style service at the restaurant, Isaac and the other waiters who always welcome you with a gentle and heartfelt smile and go to the kitchen to find the fruits when they are not on the buffer such as the delicious mangoes, Aicha who grills Giant Prawns on coal fires barbecue to perfection and to the numerous unnamed staff who make you feel at home even when you are far away... I would definitely highly recommend Lux Marijani for a wonderful experience in Zanzibar.

It was not that big with only 85 rooms which made it easy to get around. In addition they had plenty of dining area and lounge chairs. It was a beautiful property and the beach was awesome. During low tide you could walk out hundreds of yards and the water was only waist deep. The snorkeling and dolphin excursion to Mnemba Island with Mubaraka was great. We were swimming about 30 feet from 20 dolphins for a short time - amazing. We enjoyed the food and the friendly staff. We definitely recommend the Lux Marijani. On our last day we checked out and planned to enjoy the pool and beach until our scheduled taxi came at 3pm. It was raining and they quickly saw our situation and put us in another room for a few hours so we would not be stuck in the rain. We were amazed as that much attentiveness to a customer is rare!!
