We stayed at AluaSoul Sunny Beach for 7 nights from the 15th–22nd May as a group of four adults, with two adults staying in each deluxe double suite, and honestly, we had an amazing stay from start to finish. Check-in was quick and straightforward when we arrived at around 2pm. The reception staff were welcoming, friendly, and approachable from the moment we arrived, and this continued throughout our stay. We were given our room keys, towel cards for the spa/pool towels, the Wi-Fi password, and a helpful information sheet with meal times and hotel information on it, which made settling in very easy after travelling. The location of the hotel is fantastic. You walk straight out of the hotel and you’re basically right on the beach. It’s also only around a 5–10 minute walk to Flower Street and the main Sunny Beach strip, but still far enough away that the hotel itself felt peaceful and relaxing. There were shops and smaller stores all around the hotel area, including a supermarket directly across the road, which was really convenient. Taxis were also easy to get, with hotel taxis usually waiting outside. The rooms themselves were modern, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was especially nice — very clean and well maintained, with a large mirror as well as a smaller magnifying mirror, places to hang towels, a hairdryer, complimentary toiletries including liquid soap, conditioner and shower gel, and both an overhead waterfall shower and handheld shower option. Towels were changed daily if requested by housekeeping. The bedroom area included twin beds pushed together, bedside tables, air conditioning/heating, a TV, mini fridge, kettle area with tea supplies and glasses, and a balcony with a table and two chairs. We were also given bottled water on arrival, which was appreciated. The only downside for us was the storage space, as the wardrobe area is more open-plan and there weren’t many drawers or hangers available for a full week’s stay. A little more storage would definitely improve the rooms further. The food throughout the holiday was one of the highlights for us. Breakfast had a really good variety including waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausages, bacon, beans, pastries, doughnuts, croissants, pain au chocolat, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, fresh orange juice, toast, jams, marmalade, and more. There was plenty of choice every morning. Lunch and dinner always included staple options such as pizza, pasta, chips and wedges, alongside around 4–8 different hot dishes each day. One standout meal for us was the Sunday beef dish, which was absolutely amazing — tender pulled beef and genuinely one of the nicest meals we had during the entire stay. Definitely worth trying if you’re there on a Sunday evening. Desserts were also very good, with cakes and sweet treats available daily alongside an ice cream section. The strawberry ice cream was especially amazing, though there were also flavours like vanilla, banana, caramel, coconut, and chocolate throughout the week. Drinks in the restaurant are self-service, which we found really convenient. There were soft drinks, tea and coffee machines, draft beer, and rosé, red, and white wine available during meals. The restaurant staff worked incredibly hard throughout the stay. Plates were cleared quickly, staff were polite and friendly, and the restaurant was always spotless and beautifully maintained. We also visited the à la carte Asian restaurant, Jojo’s, during our stay, and it was fantastic. The staff there were absolutely amazing — incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the evening. The meal started with a buffet-style selection of starters and appetisers including sushi, spring rolls, prawn crackers, and more. After that, we ordered mains from the menu itself. I had the chicken skewers, which were amazing, while others in our group had the veal and pork dishes and all said the food was excellent. Desserts were then available from another buffet-style section with cakes, ice creams, and sweet treats. It was a really nice change during the week and added a slightly more special and elegant dining experience to the holiday. There were also afternoon snacks available near the Aqua Bar area, including sandwiches, cakes, and biscuits, which was great if you wanted something between meals. The pool and bar area was another highlight of the hotel. There are two outdoor pools centred around the Aqua Bar. One is a more lively pool with music and a more social atmosphere, while the other is quieter and ideal if you just want to relax or read in peace. We thought having both options was a really good touch. We never struggled to get sunbeds, and the cushioned sofa-style loungers were especially comfortable. The only thing we would say is that these could really benefit from some shaded options, as they are fully in the sun. The Aqua Bar had a very good range of drinks including spirits, cocktails, draft beer, wines, fresh sangria, fresh orange juice, and branded soft drinks including Coca-Cola, Fanta, and Sprite. The bar staff were lovely throughout the holiday — attentive, hardworking, and constantly cleaning tables and collecting glasses. When it wasn’t too busy, they also attempted table service, which was a really nice extra touch. The entertainment throughout the week was honestly fantastic and much better than we expected. There was something different every evening including dancers, live singers, a Bulgarian cultural night, a variety show, and an acrobatic show that was genuinely out of this world. Every act we saw was professional and enjoyable, and there was a really good balance between entertainment and still keeping the hotel relaxed. The atmosphere overall was one of the best things about the hotel. It felt modern, clean, relaxed, and adult-oriented without ever feeling boring. There was entertainment and interaction available if you wanted it, but you could also completely relax if that was more your thing. The crowd during our stay was mixed — younger couples, older couples, and groups of friends — and it never felt overcrowded during our week in May. One member of our group also used the spa and said it was one of the best spa experiences they’d ever had. They said it was spotless, relaxing, and worth every penny, and came out saying they felt 10 years younger afterwards. Overall, this is probably the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Bulgaria, and we’ve visited multiple all-inclusive hotels across the last five years. The staff throughout the entire hotel work incredibly hard and genuinely make the experience even better. It absolutely exceeded our expectations, was worth the money for the time of year we travelled, and we would return again in a heartbeat.
