I genuinely cannot pick a single fault with this hotel. Stunning location, delicious food, a varied choice of bar setting, plenty sunbeds at both the pool and the private beach area, and even a floating platform for sunbathing/jumping in to the sea. Check in and check out were easy and quick, the room was spotless and cleaned well every day, and the bathroom was modern with the inclusion of a walk in shower. The hairdryer was also good and powerful, not one of those connected to the wall that take forever to dry. The food at the restaurant was always delicious, with good options also included for gluten free/vegan etc. The service within the restaurant and at the bars was always first class, and the bar staff were willing to make cocktails that were not on the menu. The Ice Cream Truck and the Star Cafe were also great additions, and felt like a luxury having these included in All Inclusive. I like to see different places and don’t ever repeat holidays/hotels, but this is 100% somewhere I would consider returning to. Usually, I feel shy and reluctant to include myself in daytime activities but the entire entertainment team made me feel comfortable and like I wanted to be included! Big shout out to Omar and Stefan, though the entire team deserve credit. The evening entertainment was also fantastic and varied. We particularly loved casino night, helped by the fact myself and my partner both won at our tables!! The Addams family show and the Folklore show were fabulous and the white party ticked off our final night. The hotel is in a very remote location, with no option but to take the boat across to Herceg Novi if you wanted to go out. The hotel taxi boat costs €15pp return (cash only) which could become very expensive if you were going across regularly, but thanks to the entertainment team, we didn’t feel the need to leave the hotel at night and visited only once during the day to explore. We booked a boat tour through the onsite desk, and found the prices to be very reasonable (€45pp). We took the most popular trip which included stops at The Lady of the Rocks, Kotor and Perast as well as a short swimming break. All beautiful locations. There was a shot, bread and fish, and watermelon included on the boat. We had a great day. I am sad to be home, and will compare other holidays/hotels to this one going forward. I fear I may have been spoiled!
Had a fantastic holiday at Iberostar Herceg Novi. Great location with stunning views across the bay. The quality of food in the restaurant was very good, with plenty of variety across themed nights and a tasty selection from the grill. Dress code states long trousers for men, but this wasn’t enforced. The quality of accommodation and the site in general was very good, always clean and tidy but with a relaxed atmosphere. There was good sunbed availability (early July) at both the pool and beach which helped make this a relaxing holiday. Lots of activities to experience, led by the engaging and fun Star Friends team. A big shout out to Omar, Adam and Lido for their passion for encouraging participation and making us feel welcome & relaxed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan to return. Would definitely recommend.
Great location, private beach, small but nice pool (with a big pool area and bar). Animation team is excellent for adults and kids - Mira, Adam, Omar, Mickey, Esfir, Lido, Laurie and more bring so much energy to the hotel with things to do at any given moment. Fitness, Rifle Shooting, Dancing and much more! Food is mostly excellent - lots of choice great cheeses and meats, Mirko the manager makes sure everything is perfect and is a great guy! Good coffee, tasty drinks, self serve Niksicko beer, great ice cream! The hotel is built on a mountain so be ready for a good leg workout! Normal rooms are fine, some better than others they changed the ones we didn't like.
My husband and I have just returned from our third consecutive year at Iberostar Waves Herceg Novi, and once again, it did not disappoint. The hotel itself is impeccably clean, exceptionally comfortable, and all of the staff are fantastic—always warm, helpful, and attentive. However, what really elevates this hotel to extra special for us is the dining experience in the restaurant. A massive thank you must go to Mohammed, the head chef, who has repeatedly gone above and beyond for us during our stays. He is remarkably welcoming, friendly, and his level of hospitality is extraordinarily professional. The quality, variety, and choice of food he and his team produce is simply exceptional every single day. We already can't wait to return for year four!
Just finishing a week staying in this hotel, after the original Iberostar hotel we had booked wasn’t finished. This meant we paid more than we would have done, had we booked this hotel originally, so I wouldn’t say it’s worth the money we paid. But it is a good hotel. Don’t be worried by the hotels appearance when you first arrive. It’s much better than it looks from the outside! It’s in a lovely quiet location, with beautiful views and is a 10 minute boat ride (or 15 minute car journey) to the beautiful town of Hercig Novi (€15 euro boat return per person, with as many trips back and forth in the day as you like). The room was clean (cleaned every day), and has a good shower - much needed after a hot day at the beach! There is a fridge in the room, which is good if you have your own water, and there are water dispensers on each floor, allowing you to fill up bottles for free. We found the bed hard, but after a call to reception, housekeeping put a topper on the mattress which worked a treat. The beach is shingle with stones in the sea, so beach shoes are needed if you want a dip. A lovely cordoned off section of the sea allows for safe swimming and there is a large floating platform you can swim to and sunbathe on. Be warned, sun loungers start getting taken at 8am but we still found plenty of options so long as we got down by 8:15. With there only being a single restaurant, the food can get a tad boring, but themed nights mean there’s usually something different to try over the week and the food was good. We can’t comment much on the entertainment, as the evenings were mostly taken up by World Cup football tournament screenings, with each night getting louder and louder. Eventually we couldn’t stay watching the final as our ears were bleeding from the loudness of the speakers. You can feel (and hear) the sound vibrating through the accommodation block closest to the pool bar, so if you want a quiet room, ask for a room in a building at the back of the hotel, near the gym. (Reception were accommodating about rooms.) This was the big let down for us- having to put up with the noise until gone midnight (the football is still blasting out of the speakers as I type and it’s 00:30 now), but then having to get up for 8am to get a sun lounger means we aren’t feeling rested as we wanted to from the holiday. The thing that really makes the hotel special are the friendly staff, all of whom are helpful. Overall, we would come back, if they turned down the volume at the pool bar!
