Iberostar Waves Herceg Novi

Montenegro is simply stunning. The hotel has a lovely chilled out atmosphere, but there's lots to do if you want to be active. Rooms are clean and spacious. The staff go above and beyond. In reception, In the bars and restaurant and the entertainment staff, really made the difference. Trips to places like Dubrovnik, Perast and Kotor are stunning. Really really enjoyable stay.

In Iberostar in Herceg Novi, I loved the most aqua gym and bicycle riding as it was the most enjoyable, but all that thanks to worker Mira who made the experience of it even better as she gave me the most positive atmosphere but also her motivation quotes or fun ideas was giving me smile and wanting to come and join classes specifically with her

We have just got back from a fantastic 2 week stay at Iberostar with our teenage sons. Had a fantastic holiday at a lovely hotel. The staff are all wonderful but a special mention to a few who made our stay super special. Esfir and Omar from the entertainment team who were truly amazing, always cheerful, lovely to talk to, and a pleasure to be around. Bobana at the bar below the restaurant who made the best cocktails and was always smiley and lovely and finally Milica who made the best omelettes every morning, she had a wonderful sense of humour and always had a smile on her face. Food was great especially the seafood nights. Rooms are lovely and always clean. Rooftop bar had the most amazing views.

Just returning from our first trip to Montenegro. Wow!! What a beautiful country. Had the best time and the hotel is outstanding. Could not find one fault but many, many positives! The animation team are wonderful and encourage you to take part in activities without being at all pushy. I would never usually get involved but did Zumba, yoga, aqua gym and bottle painting - they were all great! :) special mention to Esfir, Omar and Adam and Micky - thanks so much for making our holiday great. The kitchen staff and also waiter and waitresses were also brilliant and nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel is spotlessly clean and facilities are perfect. Easy transport by boat over to Herceg Novi if you fancy something different, takes 10 mins and if you walk along the promenade to the left there are lots of shops, bars and restaurants that are all super cheap. We will definitely return again and will 100% recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

After a difficult journey, we felt despondent and concerned upon check in. The hotel had a distinct'Travel Inn' feel about it, and the rooms only added to these worries - a little grotty and stained, no kettle, no iron ( paid extra service) and a daily charge for use of the safe. Beds squeaky and uncomfortable. Didn't take too long for this to pale into insignificance; we don't often leave reviews and have stayed at many all inclusive resorts but this one was different. We've never seen staff at all levels, from grounds to maintenance, restaurant to animation, chefs to bar, being so friendly, considerate, cheerful and polite. The animation team were fabulous; our kids sometimes feel a little awkward joining in with strangers but they all did so well in making all feel welcome and involved. Omar was often mentioned in previous reviews, wondered why but totally get it. He was engaging, polite, empathetic and mindful of varying needs and wants - a truly lovely young man, they are lucky to have him. Bobana in the bar another star, she checked in on, and apologised on behalf of a male guest who had spoken inappropriately to our daughter, showing remarkable maturity, awareness & compassion for her age. All the staff seem to work endlessly long hours & we hope management recognise the impact this has on the guest experience, it totally changed it for us. Hope those worthy get a large post season bonus! The food was another big plus point, the best we've experienced with so much variety to suit all needs and wants. The views from the restaurant just spectacular. Pool area spotlessly clean and finding a sunbed not too hard. Would go back if the staff and food stayed the same, hopefully another choice of room would add to the experience! Tivat airport was awful, avoid in peak season if possible. Ridiculously small to cope with the volume of passengers travelling through. Hours of crowds ( 4 flights worth) pushing to get through one small gate at the same time.
