Dreams Cap Cana Resort & Spa

Overall this was a great trip. The pools and overall resort grounds were beautiful and well kept. The food was good and large portions but with only 4 restaurants and the buffet so you’ll end up eating at the same restaurants more than once. The buffet was not very impressive with food options. The staff was amazing and friendly especially to our activities team member Elian (fabulous), our butler Johan and our the Villa bartender Manny. We knew the beach was not going to be great based on other reviews and we would recommend improvements as the beaches at the Hyatt and Secrets were much better, but the seaweed was an issue everywhere. A great resort, but if you are beach people this resort will not be a great option.

From check in to departure, we had an excellent experience. Shout out to Alfrey who made sure we had a fabulous stay! The beach was overrun by sargassum (tis the season) but it did not hinder our fun. So many beautiful pools to experience. Good food and drink service. Overall a wonderful visit!

Spent a week at dreams cap cana. Very nice resort. Used to be a Margaritaville purchased by Hyatt. The Dreams team have done a great job getting this resort up to Hyatt and Dreams standards. There were people constantly doing improvements and upkeep every day. Resort grounds are immaculate and great pools. Seaweed was an issue on the beach but the pools were plentiful with variety. Our butler/concierge Johan was outstanding and so personable. Seemed genuinely excited about making our stay perfect. We also had a spa treatment where Olga was fantastic. My wife's masseuse was also great but her name was s tough one to recall correctly (maybe Yelsci). The service at the resort was excellent everywhere and the staff there go out of their way to meet your expectations.

My family and I have stayed at approximately 12 UVC resorts, so we know the level of service we've come to expect. Unfortunately, Dreams Cap Cana was our most disappointing UVC experience due to several management and operational issues. Our arrival was disappointing. Unlike every other UVC resort we've visited, no one greeted us, helped with our luggage, offered the usual welcome towel or drink, or guided us through check-in. We were simply shuffled between Preferred Club and UVC check-in. The beach was another major disappointment. While sargassum is unavoidable, the cleanup efforts were minimal during our 10-day stay. The beach became unusable, and the odor from the decaying seaweed drifted into the pool areas. Dinner was also frustrating, with 45-minute waits to be seated almost every evening. The restaurant staff worked incredibly hard but were clearly overwhelmed. One of the biggest disappointments was our experience with the Sip, Savor & See program. As long-time UVC members, we should have had access to participating sister resorts. Instead, there was confusion about our benefits, we were pressured to attend another membership presentation for benefits we already pay for, and we even had to pay for transportation back to Dreams to arrange a taxi. On the positive side, the food was consistently very good, our room was spotless every day, and Hector and Andrea at the Preferred Club bar were absolutely exceptional. They were the highlight of our vacation and deserve recognition for their outstanding service.
