HM Bavaro Beach

HM Bávaro exceeded our expectations! The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious, and the views and pools were fantastic.

Let me start by saying I enjoyed my stay. There were many good things about the hotel. - Katherine in Reception, our favorite! - The rooms are nice (except our first room, see below) - Water pressure was good and the water was hot - The bartender was a cool guy but I can't remember his name sorry. Javieroux? - The hotel was very clean - The pools are very nice - The food is good - Food/drink prices reasonable - The seating area on the beach is well maintained and there are always seats - Housekeeping was good - Security was good - The rooms have good AC - The wifi was good Things I didn't like - TripAdvisor says breakfast is free...LOL..it was like 21$/person per day! I went to the grocery store down the street and got some bagels - About my first room...the hotel seemed to be designed to funnel all rain water into our room (1206). Seriously...the rain ran down the hall in just into our room, none of the others. They clean and mopped the water out of it but then it rained and flooded again. "flood' isn't an exaggeration. It took a second request to get a new room. Things no one can do anything about but worth thinking about - It was seaweed season, the beaches were covered with stinky seaweed. Didn't bother me..I sat by the pool - When you leave the hotel you get bombarded with people trying to sell you tours - There's a grocery store down the street but it is super expensive - When it rains the street out front floods - There was no water a couple times...I guess the city was doing maintenance

As I said before, the hotel has potential but it seems like it’s lacking from follow up and maintenance. Employees don’t have the basic information about the hotel or surrounding areas.

We were able to use the facilities as a sister hotel to Whala Bavaro. Skybar pool is amazing. The other pool and bar were lovely too - Shout out to Carlos and Naomi as bartenders. The beach is lovely but in September lots of seaweed! Beach bar is great and restaurants are very good too.

The service and staff are excellent. However, some things are out of their control and must be pointed out. The beach is full of algae in July, so you need to go to other beaches this time of the year. The shower is not fully covered, which means that water always leaks out to the rest of the toilet whenever you use it. Finally, the street leading to the hotel floods really easily.
