Viva Miches by Wyndham

We chose Viva Miches for its family-friendly atmosphere, but one incident overshadowed our stay. Our 2-year-old accidentally broke a small figurine displayed within easy reach of children. We were in the boutique to buy my mother a birthday gift—a dress and a necklace—but instead were treated rudely and publicly embarrassed by the staff and manager. The incident completely ruined her birthday. I would never go back… so disappointed …

We’ve had a fantastic stay in Miches. The staff are all incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help, which really made the holiday special. The hotel is modern, spotless and very well maintained. Our room was cleaned every day to a high standard, and all of the restaurants were clean, well organised and served a great selection of food. The pools were excellent, with plenty of space to relax. The entertainment team worked tirelessly to keep everyone involved and created a fun atmosphere throughout the day and evening. A lovely touch was seeing the friendly dogs and cats around the resort, who were clearly well looked after. The beaches are absolutely stunning—like something from a deserted island, untouched and unspoilt. The sea was warm, there was no sargassum during our stay, and it was the perfect place to relax and switch off. We also booked a couple of trips through the hotel. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we really enjoyed them. The horse riding was excellent, with calm, well-behaved horses that were perfect for a complete novice like me. The guides were friendly and made everyone feel at ease. The boat trip was fantastic value for money. The crew were brilliant, the snorkelling was safe and well organised, and the highlight was standing on the beautiful sandbank surrounded by giant starfish while enjoying a rum and coke in the warm Caribbean Sea. It was one of those moments we’ll remember for a long time. One final thing—don’t let some of the negative or moaning posts put you off. Everyone has different expectations, but our experience has been nothing but positive. If you’re due to come out soon, start getting excited—you’ve got a fantastic holiday ahead of you, and we’re sure you’ll love it as much as we have. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable. We can’t wait to return!

We have been here 3 days and still have a week to go. The whole time the soft drinks machines have not worked in any of the locations, it’s a joke. They had being leaving bottles of coke out but now they have run out too. All you can drink is water or juice which now also running out. What are we paying for?

Stayed at viva miches by wyndham for 14 nights june 8-22nd. Absolutely fantastic experience, couldn't fault the staff from the moment we checked in to leaving. Rooms were spotless,staff erre aways smiling, singing and dancing. All the drinks were very strong and to an excellent standard. Food in the buffet was always plentiful. Tried all 4 special restaurants, all but the Mediterranean were fantastic. Unfortunately the service in the Mediterranean was poor, slow service, had to wait for an extra 10 minutes for my food while the other 3 came

Please read if English: First, it’s important to note that this hotel is not in Punta Cana, despite being advertised that way by some travel companies. The resort is actually located in Miches, which is a considerable distance from Punta Cana, so be prepared for a much longer transfer than expected. During our stay, another nearby hotel suffered a fire and many of its guests were relocated to this resort. While we understand this was not the hotel’s fault, the sudden increase in guests made the resort feel overcrowded, and there was no compensation or acknowledgment of the disruption caused to existing guests. The food and beverage service was inconsistent. There was often a shortage of glasses, making it difficult to get drinks, juice stations frequently ran empty, and soft drinks were not available at breakfast. The beverage machines also seemed to be out of order on a regular basis. We were disappointed by the service in some areas of the resort, particularly in the main restaurant and bar. Communication was difficult due to the lack of English spoken by some staff members, and at times we felt that English guests were treated less favourably and encountered rude behaviour. On a positive note, the staff in the smaller speciality restaurants were outstanding. They provided excellent service, were attentive, and couldn’t do enough to make our dining experience enjoyable. Tipping appears to play a significant role in the level of service received. If you’re not regularly tipping, the all-inclusive experience can feel quite different, and at times it seemed like guests who tipped received noticeably better attention. We also had to ask to have our room changed as the first room balcony was first floor ‘garden’ view which was a swamp and was facing a fence lol. They upgraded us to the 3rd floor which was better but still don’t why you would pay additionally for a sea view. The pools were clean and well maintained, which was a highlight of the resort. However, there was a serious lack of umbrellas and shaded areas around the pool. I had to visit Guest Services twice before additional shade was provided, which shouldn’t have been necessary. Overall, while the resort has some positive aspects, particularly the speciality restaurants and clean pool areas, there are several issues that need addressing to provide the level of service expected from an all-inclusive holiday four star hotel! we do not feel the resort offers good value for money. As a result, we will not be returning to Viva Miches by Wyndham, nor would we recommend this resort to family, friends, or other travellers. We are very tolerable as a couple but feel very failed and influenced to come to this resort based on its reviews and wouldn’t want anyone else to make the mistake. I feel like it was almost a chore to receive service and when you’re on holiday you’ve paid a lot of money for you expect good service especially for a 4*.
