Viva Miches by Wyndham

We really enjoyed our stay here at Viva Miches Wyndham in Dominican Republic. Awesome animation and shows, perfect food. Really unique location. Had a lot of fun with Brandon at the beer gsme. Holi festival abd the funny foam parties in the hotel pools.

Spent one week at this resort. Here are some of our experiences while we were there: 1) Wifi was unavailable most times. Connection to the internet was poor. Many people complained about this that we met during our stay. 2) Booze quality was poor. Off Brands I never heard of at all bars. They had better brands but those brands were only served to the members of the resort. You cannot get better quality liquor even if you want to pay extra for it. 3) Customer service was poor at the hotel. We had to wait in line numerous times even to ask a simple question! Members only customer service desk was always open but they would not serve you if you are not a member. 4) Members only would get served liquor first at every bar....even if you were in line waiting to get a drink. 5) most employees working at the resort do not speak or understand English at all. Hard to request something most times. 6) Shuttle service to the hotel from Punta Cana is 1.5hrs away !!! We had no idea that the resort was so far away from the city. No liquor served on the bus...wtf ! 7) Lots of TV stations available......IF YOU CAN UNDERSTAND SPANISH. Minimal channels available in English 8) Buffet food at most times was good but sometimes, cold and tasteless. They did not offer cream for coffee drinkers nor did have any Clamato or Tomato juice for Caesars or Bloody Mary cocktails...Only the basics. Resort was very clean and well maintained. Nightly entertainment was fair to say the least and the Main Attraction that week ( Michael Jackson Show ) was average. Would we advise people to go there for a getaway.......no ! There are way better places to spend your hard earned dollars so take the time to research and do your homework. I give this resort a 2 out of 5

Great beach/resort and would definitely recommend… just a few small things. Negative * Not enough shade around pool… need more umbrellas  * Not enough to do for teenagers… should be a games room or something like this in evenings (sports bar has 1 pool table but need to be 18+ to enter) * Buffet regularly missing some condiments (such as butter, ketchup, peanut butter) * Pools an awkward layout and no access to swim up bar from any of main pools… * Room a bit small for a week with 2 adults and 2 teen boys. Also no big drawers so we had to live out of our suitcases Positive * Beautiful beach… best ever by far as isolated from other resorts and you can walk quite far and the beaches are entirely untouched. It’s worth the extra drive from Punta Cana! * The ocean in bay also very calm so you’re not fighting the waves * Free use of kayaks, paddle boards, and small catamarans (with seasoned captains available to book (at no extra cost, though we did tip them)) * Some meals amazing… steak + mashed potatoes on grill at beachside restaurant, tapanaki meal was also amazing, some of the grilled food on beach as well (chicken wings, corn on cob). These were best meals but food was generally good overall. * Very clean everywhere and staff very attentive to this  * Best resort gym I’ve ever seen/used… located on 4th floor and overlooking ocean so you can watch the waves while using treadmill 😊 They also open the windows wide so you can feel the breeze as well * Lots of kittens around resort which was super cute and felt like part of the entertainment. I suspect the cat population will grow exponentially though and may become a problem at some point…

I stayed here for two days and had a great experience. The hotel is very modern and the facilities are beautiful and well maintained. Our room was clean, spacious, and quiet, and we even had our own swim-up pool which we made sure to enjoy while watching the sunset. The views around the resort are amazing and the food was very good as well. During our stay we went on some great excursions including snorkeling in a natural pool and visiting La Hacienda Park, which was a lot of fun. One of our friends stayed behind at the hotel while we went out and spent the day relaxing there, and when we came back she looked completely refreshed and said she had a great time just enjoying the resort.

We were at Vica Miches a few weeks ago. The pool & beach areas were gorgeous. I was disappointed that there was no bar or entertainment in the lobby, just outside the lobby. But it rained a lot, thus outdoor areas were not accessible. I enjoyed the nightly entertainment in the theater, but because of the late hour, I attended alone, as the rest of my party went to bed. I felt safe walking back to my room after the shows, as the walkways were well lit. While we were there, a nutritionist named Katie conducted trivia re: nutrition at the pool, with prizes awarded liberally. We very much enjoyed that, plus got to know Katie quite well & enjoyed her company. I participated in Aquagym in the ocean & was pleasantly surprised at the quality of instruction. At many resorts, that is not the case. The buffet was plentiful, but food was not cooked as you waited, with the exception of omelets. Two of the restaurants were disappointing, as a few of us did not eat our meals because we instantly disliked them. Lastly, staff spoke very little English, thus explanations of food were very limited.
