AF Valle Orotava

A good 4 star hotel. We had a large bedroom and large shower room with an excellent balcony. The hotel is a few minutes away from the centre and was a quiet location. Well positioned for using the bus service around the island. There was an excellent pool on the 6th floor. It was salt water which I prefer and lifeguard on duty. There was ample choice for breakfast. It eas self service hot and cold selection. There were only 2 lifts for 6 floors and at times these were busy. We were on the 5floor. Staff were very professional and helpful with questions about general subjects.

NOT great yet again. Noisy room despite the 'Quiet room' option Food in the restaurant some of it didn't agree with me. Bad restaurant staff constantly asking while I'm trying to eat 'Do you want drinks? Have you finished? A lift did get stuck one day, not great for this hotel. clean no. The rubbish and hair found by the pool is disgusting. Water was running into the main bathroom from the shower, which I had to mop up. I have directly contacted the hotel about this. value for money It's not a four star hotel. The location is good close to shops etc

I would recommend this hotel. I found ALL the staff friendly, willing to help and pleasant. When you have service like that it makes your holiday relaxing. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable but I found the bed and pillows a bit too firm. We were street facing and it was only noisy from passing traffic if you were sat on the balcony, but interesting to watch everyone go by. There was a lovely cafe at the end of the street to the left, past the shops for drinks and lunch. The 2 pools were heated and pleasant to cool down in and have a swim, but not huge. The rooftop terrace is clean and beds were comfy, although they do still have some of the older plastic ones which aren't as comfy, these could do with being replaced. Breakfast was great! Food and plates hit which is a rarity. Usual buffet style, bacon, sausage, eggs, full continental, cereals, fruit, yogurt, pastries and much more! Everywhere was clean. My friends used the gym, it's very run down, very hot but it didn't determine them from working out each day. I used the spa facilities, I would recommend the relaxing massage I had and was competitively priced. I can't really fault this hotel, I would return, the location is great, it's so near to the old town and the square albeit down quite a steep hill but you can zig zag making the walk up and down easier. The food and drinks in the restaurants are fab. We didn't eat at La Martinez as the reviews weren't great but I can recommend restaurants in the El Charco square, and very affordable! Lots of locals around which makes this little part of Puerta de la Cruz a very authentic part of Tenerife. Thank you for a lovely holiday, Hotel Valle Orotava AF.

Well as I'm in the hotel. The restaurant staff constantly asking have I finished my food, do I want drinks. The lifts got stuck in on for about five minutes not nice and being Autistic it was worse. The food not great. Noise and issue still. I won't come back I don't think.

Great location, on first glance lovely hotel, room is very spacious with great storage. Bathroom good size NO TOILETRIES! Just shower gel. Kettle in room. Shower is in strange position facing & next to toilet. Tray has no edging so water leaks all over bathroom floor. Toilet roll and toilet gets drenched each time. ⚠️Wiped floor with towel and it's filthy, white towel is now black! 🔸Shower gel never gets refilled it was half full on arrival. ⚠️Cleaner.... Well! Bed sheets not once changed in the week we were there I had put a pillow case and sheet on floor as they had tea stain on and was put back on the bed but not the pillow case. 🔸The pillow had slobber stains on it! 🔸Cups rinsed in bathroom sink and left on sink with tea stains on them. Floor not swept or mopped. On cleaning trolly was just towels (replaced daily) Two bins for old towels, Bleach and dustpan and brush, Tea and coffee refills. Cleaner starts really early and woke us up several mornings laughing/joking and loud talking (2nd floor) Very ignorant worst hotel I've ever stayed. Bed is so hard (not for me) You can look over the rooftop area and there are suites just below and a cleaning lady went outside running around just swiping the chairs with her hand to get bits off then left but not brushed off the floor! ⚠️ 5th day and you can't get to the rooftop pool before 10am until it's unlocked, So....... We were the first ones up to the pool as no one rushes and plenty of beds and we get to the smaller side where we had been the day before. We could smell very strong urine then realised it's by our bed right next to the pool. Then I realised once I started looking around properly that nowhere had been washed down or cleaned and every morning was the same. There were crisps and all other sorts of rubbish on the floors and beds still had people's suncream marks on them. The tables were filthy and the pool surround was black. Absolutely disgusting. I raised this with the new guard up there and he mopped up the wee with a dry mop! No water or disinfectant nothing just rinced the mop full of wee. The bigger side of the roof top was another pool and sunbathing area which we went first few days but the pool was hotter than the sun with no filter working! It had been 37 degrees that day and only got hotter during the week reaching 42 degrees. No one ever tested the water to see if it was polluted etc. Beds are very comfy to be fare just not clean. We took towels and also took the room towels so we didn't touch the beds. Last day there was a slight breeze nothing strong and we heard the couples next to us and one said they won't let the brollies out because of the slight breeze! Absolute joke this place is. No entertainment (we didn't mind) your in the heart of the town which is better. I feel like the hotel is on its bottom and will close soon. It's just bog standard with nothing inside. Can't even say at least it's clean! Our breakfast was okay as we only have toast eggs and fruit but heard lots complaing everything is bland or no choice but there was a lot for the size of the hotel. Same for dinner with not alot of choice so glad we were bed and breakfast. I must say I will NEVER return to this hotel.
