FERGUS Puerto de la Cruz

Krásný udržovaný 4* hotel, usměvaví vstřícný personál....stravování na perfektní úrovni, každý si nevybere z mnoha ingrediencí kvalitních jídel, každý večer jiná specialita. Některé komentáře jsou evidentně od konkurence.....není co vytknout.....v tomto hotelu jsme už po druhé a vždy super.....čisto.

Paid top wack for a magnus with sea view,when we arrived they had double booked our room,said it would not be available till 2days time ,put us into a disabled room with the tiniest balcony I ever have seen,offered to upgrade us to all inclusive which they did , BEFORE we had seen the 'holding' room,then the next morning asked us to sign a waiver to say we were happy with what they had offered us,I refused and told them they could take back there all inclusive and give us the room we had paid for. The next day in the afternoon we got a phone call saying a room that we had paid for was now available,utter shambles,I have heard of airlines double booking,but never hotels.

Lovely spotless hotel.friendly staff and a quick check in .lovely sea view in room 438 .we were here for my birthday got a lovely bottle of fizz in an ice bucket !lots choices of food all.day wont disappoint even a fussy eater .tables cleaned very fast after each course .we loved the fergus . 10/10 from us .bar staff super friendly especially francisso .entertaintment tea great to !!!😁

I will begin with the positives because there are a few. Rooms and the hotel and general are very clean. Food wise now, if you are a picky eater then you are in trouble, I am not so I was ok, but my wife can be and she found very little to eat. Chips where always cold. We did not bother with dinner because it was just absolute chaos when the doors opened, the breakfast and lunch where not as chaotic. Locally its near plenty of shops and restaurant's and only a 10 minute walk into town, but an absolute hell of a walk back as its very hilly and lots of stairs, great for the legs. The local restaurants appeared to very reluctant to serve us as it was clear we where not Spanish, a few did but a few did not. Now for the weird thing. The hotel appeared to adopt a very well ran system to keep you where they want you, for an all inclusive its not very inclusive. There are no tea and coffee facilities in room, I am an early riser so I had to wait till 07.30am to get a coffee and then it had to be in the breakfast restaurant. When one area closes one opens and this carries on throughout the day. The lobby bar is closed till 18.30 when pool closes so if you want a coffee or drink during the day you need to sit at pool area next to the smokers and if you do not smoke then well. The pool area is nice but very slippery. There was a coffee and drinks machine in the lobby bar but always closed, but the vending machines where always open!!. I also saw hotel staff use the all inclusive facilities but where closed to guests and also saw staff fill their plates with food, I did not realise I was paying for the staff food and drink. For an all inclusive all areas should be open regardless, so that the guests have the choice where to sit and eat and drink, the snack bars are just leftovers from breakfast and lunch. So I would not go back based on this.

Firstly, the staff made the best of what is a tired hotel which is in need of a major "make over". e.g. phone didn't work in our room, heavy metal toilet roll holder fell off the wall, torn shower curtain. To name a few examples. Considerable investment is required. We took the all inclusive package. Our major criticism relates to the dining "experience". We were not expecting to have to eat in a "works canteen"! We would suggest an introduction of some form of panels to break up the configuration of the canteen. And possibly some acoustic reduction on the ceiling. Further more, in terms of the food itself, unless you arrived at the beginning of the service, you were greeted (at best) warm food and most often cold inedible food! Unfortunately, my Wife and I suffered from a sickness and diarrhea bug for 6 of our 7 day break. Now, it maybe a coincidence, but it began 24 hrs after our arrival...!
