FERGUS Puerto de la Cruz

Krásný udržovaný 4* hotel, usměvaví vstřícný personál....stravování na perfektní úrovni, každý si nevybere z mnoha ingrediencí kvalitních jídel, každý večer jiná specialita. Některé komentáře jsou evidentně od konkurence.....není co vytknout.....v tomto hotelu jsme už po druhé a vždy super.....čisto.

I've stayed for 8 nights with my family. Check in was a little laborious after such a long journey but all reception staff were lovely. The rooms were clean and had everything you needed e.g. Fridge, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, safe. The housekeeping team kept the rooms spotless during our stay. The food was very good for an All Inclusive. Meal times were very busy in the restaurant. At each meal there was a good array of dishes and all the restaurant staff work hard. The bar staff were great. Brilliant, friendly service. The pool was cleaned fastidiously each morning which prevented sunbed wars. The entertainment team worked throughout the days to bring fun to the poolside and in the evenings. I loved this hotel and 100% would stay again

A lovely hotel located a short walk from the centre of Puerto de la Cruz. I arrived a part of an EasyJet package holiday for a 7 night stay. The transfer from the airport was a little fraught with the coach driver having to pull over to allow the engine to cool down. When we did arrive, I was the only guest for this hotel and was dropped off about 5 minutes walk from the hotel with no direction (google maps are great 👍🏻). Reception was extremely helpful and explained everything really well and within 10 minutes I was in my room on the fourth floor. Headed straight down for dinner as part of the all inclusive package and then headed for bed. The next 7 days were all about relaxing, which was done in abundance. The hotel has two pools and if you want peace and quiet recommend the upper pool and solarium which was really quiet throughout the day. No bagging of sunbeds really so there were always plenty to go around unless you arrived after 1030, although the solarium was always practically empty and just a little further on from the pool although less than 20m away. The food in the restaurant was ok however if you are not there at the start of meal times it tends to run out and is very much the same thing, if you like fish then you will be happy! Themed meal nights certainly mixed things up but again you needed to be there early, a prefer a later dinner when I’m away so often ended up with what was left. Bar service was fantastic and the staff very friendly! Puerto de la Cruz itself is a short 15 minute walk downhill, the square Plaza Del Charco was beautiful and there was an abundance of lovely cafes and bars to grab a lunch away from the hotel. My room (422) was serviced daily and the housekeeping staff were discreet and always very polite. The only down moment was as a knock on my door one night asking me to keep the noise down, when in fact another room on the same floor was belting out some loud dance music. Despite my protests to the reception team they insisted I turn the tv down, it was on so low that even I could hear the loud music and it’s the patio door shut!! It certainly left a sour taste for the remaining few days! All in all a great hotel and I would certainly look to return!

Gave it a 4 star review due to the fact that we got a good price. There were a few slight issues but got what we paid for. It’s probably more 3.5 stars. Staff were polite and helpful, rooms were cleaned daily and new towels if wanted. Breakfast was nice, dinner wasn’t great. Pool was decent but it does look smaller than in the photos. Rooms could do with a paint job to freshen up the walls, and showers could be updated. Bathroom is fairly big but the bath is really small, I had showers every day because of this. Beds were comfy and big however we kept getting woke up by what sounded like people rearranging furniture, which I believe was the cleaners cleaning peoples balconies, we were on floor 5 and it was really loud but others we spoke to on lower floors didn’t have the same issue. Rooms are spacious, air con works fine, rooms have a small fridge and a hair dryer but you need to pay for the safe. The hotel lifts are slow and not great, they’re also pretty small. If you don’t go all inclusive, a coke is 2.50 which is fine as it’s nice and not watered down and a decent size, but a bottle of 500ml water was also 2.50 which surprised us. Over all we would go again based on the hotel but due to it being in the north of Tenerife the weather is often not over cast.

This hotel is definitely not 4 star. Rooms are a good size, clean and tidy with decent facilities except they lacked tea and coffee making facilities, but you can hire a kettle (more expense). In every other 4* hotel I've stayed in, these come as standard. We stayed half board +, Which in itself was a let down as we ate out 3 times during a 10 night stay. 2 of our party thought they'd try AI But this was a complete waste of money. The food was awful, barely warm and repetitive. If you went before closing most of it had either ran out or the warming lights were turned off. The catering staff were in such a rush to close it down. If it says service till such a time, they should be serving till said time, with everything available!! Let's face it, nothing is wasted as it's recycled to the next meal sitting!! The beer on draught is watered down and certainly NOT San Miguel as advertised, (I'm a licensee and can tell the difference). The quiet pool on the 2nd floor is really nice except that's a disaster waiting to happen, the floor is so slippy when wet...on the same day, we seen 4 people slip and the lifeguards did absolutely nothing. Also at this pool AI have to pay ?? Why?? You go to a quiet pool for a reason, not to be ripped off?? Then there's the entertainment... Oh my days... Horrendous.. not even mediocre.. just full on awful... 3 nights running.. singers and disco night ALL IN SPANISH.... Yes... We're in Spain, but we're English and expect something to keep us entertained.. after all.. we have paid the same as the Spanish and every other nationality... Just not good and another reason to go out of a night. The animation team (again I didn't get there names) were really good, they put on activities to get you involved and we're so enthusiastic, they are definitely an asset to the hotel.. We knew before arriving it was positioned on a hill and was a bit tedious to get about, so can't complain about that. On the day of departure there is no courtesy shower available to freshen up before you leave, but you can leave your cases at reception. We did enquire about a courtesy room and were told bluntly.. VERY BLUNTLY..NO!! There are some amazing staff at this hotel who go above and beyond to help you.. ALBA being one of them, always a smile on her face wherever you find her working and a few others who's names I didn't catch. Overall... Not a 4 star... Hotel is "OK" but could become a 4 star with a few improvements which would entail the management spending some money to improve it. Would I return to this hotel.. NO Would I recommend this hotel.... NO.
