We have just returned from a fabulous week at the Melia Jardines Del Teide. As others mention, yes it’s a hillside location, with a number of steps in the resort, but this just adds to the wonderful view, especially relaxing with a drink in the lobby bar. We were all inclusive, but we chose not to book The Level and for us personally, we felt we did not miss out, especially given the daily rates you pay for this, and for what you get additional. Food is always down to personal preference. Yes, the food at times was warm, rather than hot, however, this was not all of the time, and you cannot fault the selection of food on offer. The desserts, unlike many buffets, were delicious and not full of artificial creams with no taste! (Not good for the waistline! But well worth it!) We ate at both A’la Carte restaurants, for us, the Italian, Casa Nostra, was our favourite. Can highly recommend the Bruschetta to start. The most amazing thing about our week, was the staff. Every single person we encountered was delightful, and it is rare you get that. There were a few people who truly stood out for us. Their memory for what you liked and attention to detail was exceptional. Thank you to Beatriz and Alberto at the pool bar, Karim and Valentina in the lobby bar, Marcial and Angel in Casa Nostra, the six of you alone are a reason we would definitely return. And thank you to Carlos F&B Manager for having such wonderful employees to look after us! We cannot wait to return

The only reason a star was dropped was because of the walk to the pool. As a person with walking difficulties, we had to take 3 lifts to get to the pool with certain amounts of walking between each of the lifts. The food was good though could have been hotter. A major asset to the hotel is the staff, from Alice in reception, extremely helpful, to Roque the concierge, again extremely helpful. Nothing was too much bother. A special mention also to out little bar person, Valentina, always smiling and welcoming, a little ray of sunshine. We did request to be able to use the level pool as it was directly underneath our room, but was told it would be 50 euros per person a day with a minimum of 7 days, as we were already on all inclusive it meant paying that amount just to use the pool. Come on please, we had already spent £4200 on the holiday (10 days), there was no negotiation available. The hotel could also benefit from a shop selling toiletries, sun creams, newspapers etc., the nearest shops/ supermarkets was a walk back up cardiac hill, not for the elderly and infirm. That all said we had a wonderful holiday meeting very nice people, Sally and Stewart and Don and Teressa, all great company.

Just returned from a lovely week in this hotel We had half board in an ocean view suite with access to the Level facilities which I would highly recommend. Apart from having a private pool for Level customers only, the highlight was having our breakfast in the Level restaurant. `There is an a la carte menu with waiter service as well as a large buffet option. Our evening meal was in the main buffet restaurant which had a good choice, although as others have said, the food is warm as opposed to hot! The Level lounge is open from 8am to 10pm with complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee and pastries. Between 4pm and 6pm there is also a choice of spirits and tapas. Our room was spacious and very well appointed. It also had amazing views from a large terrace which had two sun loungers as well as seats and tables The staff are efficient and friendly and the hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The only issue that might put anyone off is the fact that it built into a cliff with a lot of steps to navigate if you want to exit the hotel via a gate onto the lower road. You can go via the main entrance and down a winding road. In either option it is a bit of a climb back up in hot weather. However a taxi up from the centre is very cheap. Would we come back? Definitely...its a great hotel to relax in with outstanding service and accommodation.
