Riu Ventura

Riu Ventura was a fun stay! The hotel is new, everywhere you walk smells clean and is modern! Very nice common areas and clean, spacious rooms. Beautiful room views overlooking the ocean. The food was good, clean areas and handled with care. However, as all resorts it does get repetitive but nothing that you cannot make out of it. Steakhouse was very good and a nice variation from the buffet. Drinks were good and all staff everywhere was nice and caring. Shoutout to all of them, from the reception staff to the beach and pool team! Especially the guys with the drink carts going around making delicious drinks - even in 40 degrees + heat! Worth noting that this resort is very close to the airport (15-20 min max only because there’s traffic) but not close to other RIU properties. You will need to take shuttle bus to go to other RIU which is 30 min ride. We did also use Uber to go to downtown Cancun for the bars and clubs there ($15 CAD during the day and not peak time at 2-3am coming back to hotel) Overall it was a really fun, enjoyable vacation!

This resort is new so I can see why ppl are liking it. However let’s take a closer look. We booked here last minute because our airline went on strike and needed an inexpensive stay quickly. The hotel rooms are basic, like a super 8 or Ramada. We has a 2 double bed we out pull out couch. Which is like sleeping on stiff board with a bar across the middle. Very uncomfortable. The AC is barely functional and loud. The 3 teeny tiny pools are very dirty, the pool deck tiles are extremely slippery when wet. The pool bar was like looking a very dirty piss pool. Truly disgusting. Now the all inclusive is another thing altogether as long as you don’t have any severe allergies to egg or dairy because if you do good luck finding any food at all. My son who has anaphylactic allergies to both dairy and eggs got sick every single day even after speaking with the servers and chefs regarding the food ingredients. The utensils, tables , plates, cups, everything is dirty. My daughter found mold on the sushi. But the fruit was decent. So there’s that. The entertainment staff are doing a good job. Most of the bartenders make a good drink. Some do not. I would say overall this hotel is a solid 2.5 stars.

Had a fairly good holiday at this hotel. Lovely interior with large spacious rooms which were immaculate. Staff in restaurants and bars were so helpful & friendly. Also liked the fact that there were plenty of sun loungers available during the day. Food and drink generally good and you can take a short ride on bus or uber for 3.50 up to shopping mall. The online check in priority queue was a joke as it took 40 minutes to check in. Only one lady called Fatima on reception who was dealing with a customer in front of us but then resident guests started to queue jump and despite our protests as well as the couple behind us she did nothing to deter them. She then rudely gestured to us that she needed to move to another desk & left us all standing before one of the male staff stepped in. Also the noise levels at night. We had a side sea view room & the noise from the road was off putting especially one night when motorbikes were racing up & down for a few hours. Also can hear guests from upstairs singing in the shower lol so defo needs some improved glazing in patio doors & sound proofing. Food was mostly fine though dinner in buffet mostly had stews and could do with a curry or something to go with the amount of different rice dishes on offer. The pool restaurant was good but would recommend the burger buns be put in a covered container as a few flies were landing on the buns. Evening entertainment wasnt great if u have teenagers as it was mostly in house singers & dancers the week we were there. All in all a good hotel with a few improvements required.

Stayed at Riu Ventura for five nights. Place was clean, quiet and beautiful. Service was spectacular. Food was wonderful. Restaurants were great. Loved that most were first come, first serve. No reservations necessary. Beautiful property. The rooms were lovely and clean. There was no noise problem and the beds were comfy. Love that you could adjust the thermostat in the room. We like it cool. Honestly, we were treated like royalty. Would come back tomorrow if I could. Yes there was a bit of a seaweed problem, but that didn't bother us, there were so many gorgeous pools.
