Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club

Secret of Tulum was awesome. but it takes a couple of days to learn your way around. Definitely will be coming back. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is our third secrets property to visit and I would have to say it is my least favorite. The staff was great. The food was great. The resort itself just did not feel or look as luxurious as the other Secrets properties we've stayed at. Our concierge/butler did not see us at check in or at all until our second day after lunch..and that was only after we asked. There are no actual swim up bars at any of the pools. We did not like having to get out of the pool to get drinks. Our swim out suite had a huge spot that needed repair at the bottom...wasn't a problem but looked terrible. Housekeeping was amazing! All restaurants were amazing! There is no beach on property which was not a problem. They have a shuttle to their beach club. The beach had so much seaweed, looked a terrible reddish brown color, and smelled terrible. There only 4 other people at the beach club when we were there. There really weren't many people at any of the pools on the property. We stayed 6 days and 5 nights and most times my husband and I and the couple we traveled with were the only ones in the pool. We like a little quietness, but this resort was a little too quiet for us. Overall not a bad vacation at all, just was not what was expected for a Secrets property.

The staff is some of the most genuinely welcoming and pleasant to be around I experienced in years!! Erik at The Grotto was fantastic help. Is willing to make drink recommendations and customizations to menu items with no hassle whatsoever!

Had a swim out suite which was very nice. Daily room service was attentive to towel replacement and mini bar was restocked daily to requested needs. Concierge Roberto was awesome. Exchanged WhatsApp info and communicated through text. He checked on us every day and quickly responded if we requested anything. From a bucket of ice, to organizing transportation to the airport, it was taken care of. The only suggestion I would have is to have the main buffet area open during dinner. Selection during breakfast and lunch was nice and changed daily. Just wished we could of had this as an option for dinner.

What stood out most was the beautiful jungle-inspired design, relaxing atmosphere, multiple pools, friendly staff, and great food. The beach club was a highlight, and the shuttle made it easy to enjoy the beach club. Overall, it was a peaceful, upscale experience and a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. The only thing I would do differently is visit during a time when the sargassum isn't as bad so the beach can be fully enjoyed.
