We had a really good time at Sensira Resort & Spa and truly enjoyed our family vacation. This resort has so much potential, and there were several employees who made our stay incredibly special. First, I have to recognize Eva, Muñoz, Sandy, and Oliver. They went above and beyond every single day. Eva was absolutely AMAZING at the breakfast buffet every morning. She did everything she could to meet our family’s needs, always greeted us with the biggest smile, made the cutest drinks for my girls, and genuinely made breakfast something we looked forward to. Her positive energy was contagious. She is exactly what I would expect from a team member at a true top-tier 5-star resort. Muñoz at the pool bar was equally incredible. My husband and I don’t drink alcohol, and he never once made us feel awkward about ordering mocktails. Instead, he made the BEST non-alcoholic drinks every single time. He took pride in what he did, and it showed. Overall, I really wish the buffet was better. It wasn’t terrible, but it was definitely mediocre—especially considering this is marketed as a family-friendly resort. Breakfast was okay, but lunch and dinner only seemed to go downhill. The food quality, variety, freshness, and restocking all need improvement. There should be much more fresh fruit and more kid-friendly options. Running out of cereal—or not putting out kid-friendly cereals at all—at a resort built for families is honestly kind of wild. One of our biggest frustrations was that the online restaurant information was rarely accurate. The menus didn’t reflect what was actually available, and there wasn’t an updated schedule showing which restaurants were open or on what days. It made planning meals with young kids much harder than it needed to be. We constantly heard, “We’re out of that,” “That’s not available today,” or “We don’t have that.” Along those same lines, the lack of ice cream and kid-friendly desserts throughout the resort was surprising and disappointing. At a family resort, you’d expect those things to be easy to find. As for the restaurants: * The Mexican restaurant at dinner: 10/10. Absolutely delicious. * The Steakhouse: Another 10/10. * The Italian restaurant: Unfortunately, probably a 2/10 for us. * The café: Their cold sandwiches were DELICIOUS and became one of our favorite quick meals. The seafood restaurant by the pool had potential, too. On our first day, we were able to try a little bit of everything and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, after that, the menu never reflected what was actually available. There were constant shortages. One day, after being told almost everything was unavailable, we simply ordered two regular orders of fries. We’re still waiting for them…they never came. We also witnessed the chef arguing with both guests and coworkers in front of everyone, which wasn’t a great experience. It honestly seemed like she wasn’t given the support or training needed for the pace and pressure of that restaurant. That seemed to be a recurring theme throughout the resort: items constantly being out of stock, unavailable, or removed from the menu without notice. Unfortunately, outside of people like Eva and Oliver, many staff members responded to these situations with attitudes that came across as rude or dismissive instead of empathetic. That being said, the resort really does have a lot going for it. The family amenities were fantastic. Our girls absolutely loved the Kids Club, Neon Night, the Hawaiian show, and the zip line. Those experiences created wonderful memories for our family. The rooms were another highlight. They were clean, well-stocked, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Even the public restrooms throughout the resort were spotless, smelled great, and were consistently well cared for. Overall, we genuinely enjoyed our vacation. With stronger customer service training, more consistent food quality and availability, and better communication about restaurant schedules and menus, Sensira could easily become one of the best family resorts in the area. The foundation is there—they just need to invest a little more in the guest experience.
