The Reserve

We stayed at The Reserve Madeira recently and honestly… We loved it and didn’t want to leave. From the very first moments even before I arrived everything was handled so smoothly. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, especially the fantastic attentive helpful staff. All of them particularly the GEPA and Restaurant staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The luxury room was spotless, maintained to a very high standard, and you could feel the attention to detail that The Reserve offers. The unique personal service was very much appreciated, and honestly, it sets the bar very high for other hotels to follow. I would absolutely come back in an heartbeat, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, personal, and genuinely relaxing stay. If we could give it six stars we would. We look forward to another trip to this super high class hotel in the near future.

The team helped arrange my transfer and even an airport welcome, which already set the tone for the whole stay. It just felt easy and taken care of. The hotel itself is stunning, especially the biophilic design. There’s something about the way nature is integrated into the space that makes you instantly relax. It feels calm, fresh, and really grounding. And the staff… truly the kindest I’ve experienced. Always there when you need something, 24/7, but never intrusive. Whatever I needed throughout the stay, they were ready to help with genuine warmth and attention. I also really appreciated the amenities especially the chance to try local foods, which added a nice authentic touch to the whole experience. Everything felt very thoughtfully curated. The room was spotless, maintained to a very high standard, and you could feel the attention to detail. I also loved the bath experience such a simple thing, but done so well that it became one of my favorite moments to just unwind. Overall, everything felt top from start to finish — the service, the atmosphere, the details. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and actually enjoy the moment. And honestly, it sets the bar very high for other hotels. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, elevated, and genuinely relaxing stay.

We picked The Reserve to celebrate our honeymoon and were extremely pleased at the overall quality of service, facilities, room, food, and location within Funchal. This is the type of exclusive hotel you go to for major life celebrations or for complete privacy. It was a very restful retreat in an otherwise adventurous and enjoyable island to visit. We would absolutely visit again when we’re back in Madeira!

An excellent and luxurious stay. With a likeable and attentive team looking to meet our every need. Being fast-tracked through the airport on arrival and departure was an impressive bonus. Good location - a pleasant walk away from Funchal centre. Recommended.
