Electra Kefalonia Hotel & Spa

We discovered this hotel online on the Thursday and after return emails with the lovely Katerina, who assured us that they could cater for myself being gluten intolerant (Coeliac), we booked and arrived three days later 31st May for 7 nights. Not only were we concerned, as we always are when travelling and going to a new place re: my intolerance, but we also weren’t quite sure re: the close proximity of the airport runway we had read about and also building work being carried out next door. Well we needn’t have been! What a very special place we had found full of very special people :)) We arrived as strangers and feel we left as friends. Both myself and my husband considered breakfast here was to a very high standard. Even though the lunch and dinner menu is somewhat limited as some people have previously mentioned and there were a few choices that straight off I was unable to choose, every day I was helped to make a gluten free choice with the restaurant manager's help even mixing things around. We were half board but ate lunch every day at the hotel because I felt so confident that everyone was looking after me and seemed to be clued up on cross contamination too. The gluten free food for myself and everything for my husband that came out of the kitchen was simply stunning and of restaurant quality. The chefs certainly know what they are doing and everything is cooked with love! The operations manager sourced some gluten free Greek lager for us to purchase also! We weren’t bothered at all by the building works while we were there and were actually fascinated by the aircraft flying so low over the hotel. Many good videos were taken …… it added something. The hotel is exceptionally clean, built with style, class and attention to detail. All furniture everywhere was comfortable with quality furnishings inc. bedding/towel/bathrobes. Having fly screens you can pull across your open balcony door and bathroom window just makes perfect sense! Our room was so well looked after by housekeeping and lovely touches were supplied as standard. This isn’t the cheapest place to eat and drink by far, your large bottle of water if you want it at lunch and dinner was chargeable which we felt could have been complimentary, but what you are getting is quality. We had pure relaxation in this calm and peaceful oasis and were totally looked after by one and all! We very much hope to return to be greeted by all their smiling faces again :))

Location excellent staff friendly and helpful Lovely small boutique hotel

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Electra. The room was very well appointed and we were really well cared for by kind, attentive and thoughtful staff, who catered to our every need. The spa facilities were very good, with a very astute concierge service, which captured our appetite to both explore the island’s highlights and also to relax. The hotel is located in a quiet part of Svoronata, with a number of mid-range restaurants within easy walking distance and a small, lovely beach right on the doorstep.

Stayed here in may 26,found out building work is going on so contact was made,promised %20 off hotel price for the week, as of yet not received it,will return shortly with a updated review.

The staff make this hotel very enjoyable, from reception, restaurant, cleaning & waiting staff all are very helpful . We had a lovely room ( 204) above the restaurant with views to the sea and watched the sunsets every night. We were on H/B and enjoyed all of our meals , although the menu is not the biggest . The restaurant manager was very helpful in suggesting options that suited our taste. Kefalonia airport is not very big and the planes landing were not an issue while sat by the pool. Ammes beach is a 5 minute walk away and there is a bus that goes into Argostoli throughout the day , €2.50 . We have had holidays in Kefalonia every year for the last 15 years and have seen all of the lovely island , we did not have a car but did go into Argostoli on the bus and had a taxi back. Electra are having a larger hotel built adjacent which should be open by July 2027. The building works did not affect our stay. We had a very relaxing stay and are very much looking forward to returning in 2027. A big thank you to everyone.
