Irina Beach Hotel

A long one but here we go…. Well, what a beautiful hotel! Prior to our arrival, I contacted reception who arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport as there are few available on the island We arrived late and were warmly greeted by both Keira the gorgeous dog and Adonis at reception. We were shown to our beautiful, immaculate room with a stunning sea view. The breakfast is good, hot and cold options, bakery items etc The pool is stunning. No need to reserve beds as it is only a small, family run hotel and there are plenty to go round due to the size of the pool The guys in the pool bar are great. Nothing is too much trouble and the variety, quality of bar snacks and service is fab! The only criticism is to be wary of the umbrellas on the beach as they allow the sun to filter through and so you may (like me) get a bit burnt! The bus….runs from outside the hotel (the first stop on the route) and goes backwards and forwards to Kos town stopping in Tigaki on the way. It cost €2 each to Tigaki and €2.25 to Kos town. We found it to be on time BUT, be aware that the return time shown is from Kos town so ot will actually arrive in Tigaki 10/15 minutes after the time shown on the timetable to take you back to the hotel. Sounds obvious but quite a few of us made the same mistake! We used this to catch a bus to the beaches where you can hire beds with shade and lockers from which you can order food and drinks to be brought to you on the beach (Roosters beach was €23 for 2 beds and a locker-well worth it for a day out). The water is shallow here so great for children There is a supermarket maybe 15/20 minute walk away. Beach/pool towels are available for a €5 deposit and can be changed every other day The hotel can arrange a trip to Zia , a Village in the mountains which is nice for a few shops and sunset views from the restaurants This hotel is perfect if you want friendly, helpful staff, beachside, a local feel, peace and quiet (there is no entertainment here) and cleanliness.

We found this hotel and was well worth it. The hotel staff on our arrival were more than friendly and helpful. The location ,the pool,beach and the views..wonderful. We hired a car for the duration of our trip to Kos to see all the sights, we're not ones for just cooking by the pool all day. The hotel rooms are cleaned to a high standard everyday, have plenty of wardrobe space and even a kitchenette area . Clean bathrooms with efficient showers. The food is really good. A wide range of breakfast choice and a very good menu for evening meals should you want to eat in. We cannot find a single thing that we could fault this hotel with. Highly recommend and will return again

Having just returned from a 9 night stay at the Irina I have nothing but praise to give in my review. I booked as a solo traveller having visited the hotel last October to check out the rooms for a sept/oct holiday this year. From start to finish my stay was nothing other than a total pleasure. It is spotless, the rooms are modern, clean and large, and the bed was very comfy!. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, each member of staff always had a smile, time to chat and answer any questions I had. The hotel itself and the location made my holiday feel like I’d found myself a little piece of paradise but the staff members all my holiday feel extra special, the service they provided felt very personal and it never went unnoticed by me or my friend who added on to my holiday and booked solo to come along all the way from Chicago!. There is a road that runs outside the front of the hotel so there is some traffic noise but I knew that before staying and it certainly didn’t stop me sleeping, the spectacular mountains views out front more than make up for that. Food was fresh, tasty, presented well at each meal, breakfast being continental buffet style but the option for a cooked breakfast is also available each morning, there are also hot options on the buffet each morning and I really liked that it varied from day to day. Everything from pastries and cakes, fruit and Greek yogurt, cereal, toast, salads, cold meats and bread rolls and probably more that I missed are served from 7.30am - 10am, I will mention if you like a big pot of tea the breakfast cups a teeny tiny. There is a kettle in the room with cups, saucers and a couple of glasses plus a fridge so if you want your usual big pot of tea best bring your own mug and have it on your balcony whilst enjoying the breathtaking views, and all the various little birds including woodpeckers pecking away at the grass, gold crests, swallows, and very chatty sparrows!. I return in September this year for a 14 night stay but whilst there I booked another 9 nights stay for next May!. I will be solo travelling next May and have no qualms about staying here alone as I felt safe, very well looked after and very content. I did eat alone a couple of nights and through the day and I felt very comfortable. Food is available to order from the beach bar from 11am until around 7pm and the restaurant serves food until 9.30pm last order to be placed by 9.25pm. All very reasonably priced and a very good choice of everything from salads to a mixed grill to ice cream and pizza!. The atmosphere was very relaxing throughout my entire stay, and my only negative is that I had to leave!. I can’t thank all of the staff enough for making my holiday so enjoyable, from the cleaner who did my room to the guys at the pool bar, Valentino & Pantos thank you. The lady that helped at breakfast, thank you. Pantos & Costas, thank you. Nana on reception, thank you for helping me with my bite and checking on me every morning to see how it was doing, and Miss Maria, thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us, thank you, each and every one of your staff members are a total credit to you and your hotel. I shall see you in September 💜.

We chose this hotel because of its position with a beautiful pool overlooking the beach so you had access to both. The hotel is beautifully kept everything is spotless and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The breakfast is adequate however the fried eggs and omelettes are put out very early and kept under heat so everything is pretty overdone even though we were early risers. It would just improve it so much if they laid out the usual yoghurts and meats et cetera to help yourself but then offered a choice of cooked eggs fresh. The food you can order during the day from the bar is lovely and well priced. I had contacted the hotel about six weeks prior to arrival as it was a special birthday and anniversary and I asked if we could have a room with a nice view. I was told the hotel was full but they would let me know and I could pay for an upgraded room nearer the time, but this Didn’t happen. I wasn’t particularly after the top graded room just somewhere we could sit and look out at the mountains or over the pool. Unfortunately, we were allocated a below ground floor looking at an unfinished building of a hotel . I did ask if there were any other rooms but was told it was full. The day after the receptionist offered to move me one floor up but still looking out at the unfinished hotel building so I declined as we’d completely unpacked and we weren’t really gaining anything. The hotel is quite a way out so you can get the local bus down to the centre or there’s bike hire or about a 25 to 30 minute walk though the road is busy .

Another excellent stay at the Irina Beach. Lost count how many times we've been to this hotel and it never disappoints. Lovely family run hotel and everyone makes you feel so welcome. We had room 39 this time which was sea facing above the terrace, beautiful room, love the new decor and although the bed was a little hard it was super comfy. Breakfast was delicious every morning and we had several lunches and dinners and it was delicious every time. Can't recommend this hotel enough, if you like a bit of peace in beautiful surroundings this is the one. Right on the beach with a local bus service right outside that takes you into Tigaki in a few minutes, Kos Town is a short distance away also.
