TUI SUNEO Althea Village

Loved everything: food, service, atmosphere, rooms, cleanliness. If one little minus, the beach is 1km walk from the hotel.

Firstly I would like to thank Althea Village for the 5th time for an amazing holiday. As always 1st class service. Rooms amazing and clean. This is an excepional hotel and why we come back. From the day we arrive to going home is 1st class. A special thank you to Evi in reception who is always there for my special requests. Always smiling and nothing is a trouble. Total proffesional. Thank you also to the other reception staff Dora,Ervina,Alexandra,Suela and my main guy for information in the area Lefteris. He gets me to ghe secret restaurants. Much gratitude must go to the hotel manger Stavros. This man is an asset to the hotel. Never missis anything and alwsys willing to chat listening to your views if positive or negitive. People could learn from his skills as a manger. A big thank you to George in the bar ,amazing job. Thanks to our top guy in yhe Resataurant Nikos as he always gets us the same outside table. See him if you have any requests at dinner time. Finally amazing job Tui anamation. Marlon team leader was amazing all holiday and the two girls Fanny and Elsa were great too. Thank to all. You call us family and not guests. The same applys to you all. And again thanks Evi for helping with my long day to Plakias x. A hotel to trust

Lovely scenic hotel with wonderful fantastically maintained grounds - so pretty! Rooms cleaned every day (except Sunday) and towels and bed linen changed every other day. The bed is very comfortable and nice size room. All the staff are fabulous and very friendly and helpful 😀 This is our second visit in 2 years and it was as good as the first time. The food is a tad repetitive but tasty and there is plenty of choice. I have an allergy and the maitre d made sure to advise me what I could and couldn't eat, and was very attentive. I probably won't return again so quickly as we've seen everything in this area, but it's on the list for a return in the future sometime! Thank you to everyone (including our fab cleaner/room attendant - Niki, she is so kind and a real asset to the hotel).

We are a couple in our 30s and really enjoyed 10 days here. First of all, every single member of staff here is a credit to the hotel and nothing is never enough, extremely friendly. Taxi into Chania is 15 euros or you could get a bus cheaper, reception will happily order you a taxi. We was in a room across the other side of the road which was spotlessly clean, modern and nice and quiet. There is three pools at the hotel and plenty of sunbeds (which are comfy) , no need to get up early, sometimes we got to the pool 11am. There is so many options to eat at the hotel, multiple meats to chose from, vegetables, rice, chips, snacks, if you cant find something then you are fussy. Drinks where strong rather than watered down and you could help yourself, to branded soft drinks, juices, beer, water & wines. Entertainment in the day time I am not sure of as we never sat at the main pool (more for families with kids) so cannot comment however entertainment come to second pool to offer water aerobics. Evening entertainment could have been better, there was a 1 week schedule so the same each week (which can be repetitive if there over a week) and there wasn't too much for adults. You have usual kids club, one night bingo, another karaoke, some dancing, etc. This isn't a deal breaker however could be improved on. The atmosphere around the bar is nice if you like a chilled evening. There are supermarkets down the road, e.g YNKA, Lidl's or small independent shops, 10 minutes from the beach and 10 minute taxi into Chania which should be visited as its beautiful. I would absolutely come back to Chania and this hotel in a heart beat. Thank you Althea Village for a memorable holiday.

We had a lovely holiday at Althea Village. The hotel itself was well looked after and the gardens were beautiful. The pools were very clean. Our room was clean and again well looked after, I do think it would have been nice to have a kettle in our room but other than that it had everything we needed. The main thing that let us down a bit was the food, I am pregnant so limited to what I can eat but my partner agreed with me that there wasn’t as much choice as we had hoped for, the quality of the food wasn’t the best and they kept repeating the same things over and over so the variety wasn’t great. In the evenings it was so packed there was queues for the food so by the time you sat down half your food was cold. The gyros snack bar was great and you could also have access to sandwiches. Chips and some desserts. Sun beds were never an issue in May for us so we were always able to get a seat. Only a short walk to the bus stop to get into Chania which we visited frequently and a 10 min walk to the beach. There is also a supermarket 5 mins down the road.
