I had two confirmed reservations at Oceanpoint Ranch for March 7–9 and March 8–9. The second room was for my in-laws. After driving six hours to the property, we were informed at check-in that the March 8–9 reservation had been cancelled without any notice. There was no phone call, no email, and no explanation provided ahead of arrival. I then spent over two hours on the phone with the third-party booking platform trying to determine what happened. They confirmed both verbally and in writing that they did not cancel the reservation. Despite this, the hotel maintained that the issue originated from the third-party service and advised this is why they recommend booking through them directly. This left me stuck between two parties, each pointing to the other, with no clear accountability while I was trying to resolve the situation in real time. I had also called the hotel on February 18 to confirm both reservations in advance, which makes the lack of communication even more frustrating. After being told the hotel was sold out, I was forced to search for alternative accommodations, only to later find that Oceanpoint Ranch had a room available online. I had to book that room myself at a significantly higher rate, despite asking the front desk to notify me if anything opened up. It's convenient that on a sold out night my discount third party booking was cancelled. Maybe so they could resell the room at a higher rate? While the hotel eventually provided a credit that covered the price difference, it did not address the time spent resolving the issue, the stress after a six-hour drive, or the embarrassment caused to my in-laws. Based on this, I had no plans to leave a review. What was most surprising, however, was the final response from management. After escalating the issue to corporate due to the lack of resolution, I was informed that I would no longer be allowed to make future reservations at the property because of the “conflict” created by raising this concern. To be fair, the general manager was professional and responsive. However, at no point was I rude or unprofessional to any staff member including the front desk. I'd be happy to post any part of our correspondence. I am sharing this experience so future guests are aware that: Confirmed reservations may be cancelled without notice Even when a third-party platform confirms they did not cancel, responsibility may still be unclear Guests may be required to resolve issues themselves upon arrival Available rooms may not be communicated by staff Raising a legitimate concern may result in being told you are no longer welcome This was not the level of service I expected, and I hope this feedback helps others make a more informed decision. I fully anticipate detailed response from management for visuals.

This is a great value for the location. Nicely decorated. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Love the fireplace. However, it is dated. The room was hot when we got there and there's no AC so we opened all the windows, which helped with the cool ocean breeze. The toilet paper holder was loose.
