La Quinta Inn & Suites Miami Airport East

Building not built to reduce noise from the airport, needs a good cleaning, staff was friendly that understood and spoke English.

Our stays at the La Quinta Inn and Suites Miami Airport East for one night on April 5, 2026, and three nights beginning April 10, 2026, were far beyond unsatisfactory. We were first assigned Room 304. The mattresses should have been disposed of five years ago. We called guest services and a manager/service representative reported to our room and I showed her the issues and asked her to try out the mattress. She too sunk straight in and could feel the wires on the edges of the mattresses. She then showed us Room 314; the mattresses in this room were doable. The issues with this room were the iron and the ironing board; both were broken. An employee came up and had difficulty finding replacements. The first iron he found had a scorched plate and the ironing board he found was broken as well. I suggested that he go to Room 304 as it did have an iron and an actual stand-up ironing board. He was able to gather an iron from another room and an ironing board from 304. The television in 304 was ready for full retirement and thank God we were moved to Room 314 as the television worked. The only issue was with the dish cable as the guide and channels did not match. It, for whatever reason, would rotate some of the shows to different channels. The bathroom had many issues starting with roaches, one was using the toilet before I could; a second grade toilet and toilet paper, near death towels and washcloths; a moldy tub stopper; a shower curtain that would not stay in place with a rod that appeared to be jerry-rigged as it did not properly fit into the brackets. Housekeeping never left two washcloths, only one, and you had to request a second. Continental breakfast is a total joke. The options are very slim; you can prepare a waffle, get a microwave egg, bread, bagels, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. The kitchen staff have an issue with telling the truth. The cups placed for the waffle batter had run out. When asking the attendant, he lied and said there were no more cups. We watched him open a cabinet full of cups. Another guest requested a tea bag, and he told him there were no more tea bags. We have stayed with other La Quinta locations before and have had much better experiences. This location would probably work better shut down for upgrades and renovations. While waiting for the 5:00 AM shuttle to the airport, we and others, including an airlines pilot asked for confirmation on the shuttle and it is leaving on time. The representative behind the desk, using his cell phone, told us all that it would be leaving at 5:00 AM. At around 4:50 AM he states that he forgot to tell us that the shuttle broke down. Poor business. Now everyone was calling for an Uber or Lyft in order to make their flights. Had I known that this La Quinta Miami Airport East was nasty, I would never have made one reservation, let alone two reservations. This experience has made me reconsider staying at any La Quinta Inn and Suites in the future. I urge management to take these concerns seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure guests are provided with a safe, clean, and honest environment.

We chose this spot due to proximity to the new Nu Stadium where Inter Miami now plays. The location was the best thing about it, though walking to the nearby bus stop to catch public transit to the game required walking under the freeway without sidewalks. Yikes. The drop off stop was better situated but still lacked pedestrian access. No restaurants, convenience or grocery nearby. The hotel is well worn, dingy, and noisy. Our tub and sink had deep cracks. The towels were old and worn thin, bed and pillows lumpy. Entire space didn’t feel clean or fresh. No water for purchase in the minimally stocked pantry at the hotel. The workers were very nice and the AC worked well. We liked the fridge and microwave in the room. Overall, I would not stay here again. I know it’s a budget hotel but even folks on a budget would agree this place needs a big redo.
