La Quinta Inn & Suites Miami Airport East

Noisy location right near flight takeoffs from airport, train horns, not quiet at all. Sub-par cleanliness of room. Three small pillows for two adults with king bed. Key card only worked after many tries. Dirty elevators with jerky ride and slow doors and ride. Poor breakfast options they have a hard time keeping stocked… just eat out instead.

La Quita Airport East Miami. FL. The room they first put us in had floorboards coming up; a definite tripping hazard, and the bathroom was disgusting. The staff that showed up for work were great! We were told, there was a staff shortage due to ICE being in the area. The second room we got put in was a little bit better, but bathroom was also disgusting.

I chose the La Quinta because of it's location close to the airport. We arrived after 11 pm and their hotel shuttle only runs until 11 pm so we had to take a taxi to the hotel. I'm glad the hotel was so close because the taxi charged by the 1/6th of a mile!!??!! We were staying one night and leaving for a cruise the next morning then we were staying again the night we returned from our cruise and flying home the next day. The night clerk gave us incorrect information concerning the shuttle to the port for our cruise. He said the shuttle only took 20 minutes, so we booked the 11 am shuttle for a 12:30 pm check-in at the port. Actually due to the construction at the port, the shuttle ride took over 2 hours! I think the clerk who lives in Miami, and deals with customers going to the port everyday, should have known that. We missed our check-in appointment and almost missed getting on the ship at all! The hotel's common areas, the lobby, the hallways, etc. weren't very clean. And the hotel looks pretty run down. The small convenience store is pricey, $11 for a small bottle of water and some candy. Our reservation was for 2 people but the room only had enough towels for one person. On our first night the A/C in our room only blew warm air making the room stiflingly hot. The TV remote volume in the room on our 2nd night was set so low that you couldn't hear the TV. Also they offer coffee in the rooms, but no cups to put it in. If you want cups you have to go to the lobby's breakfast area to get them. The highlight of our stay was that the breakfast was good and plentiful and the internet worked well. All in all, I've had better experiences at Super 8 motels for a lot less money!
